Online and telephone counselling

Hello, my name is Maria. I am a qualified counsellor offering online and telephone counselling. I offer a warm, empathic, safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore anything you wish.

We can all feel anxious, stressed and out of control at times, I am here to help you explore your world, in your own way.

I feel we are all unique and therefore the counselling relationship should be unique too. I will bring my full being into our space and aim to work with you on a relational, deep level.

My background is working within guidance and mental health support services. I believe my extensive client work in previous roles provides a greater depth of understanding for the issues we all face. Previous services I have worked for include; women's refuge, The Foyer, Citizens Advice, Connexions. 

As well as my private practice, I also work as a sessional counsellor for a local CIC. I hold an enhanced DBS check. 

I will create a safe, open space to help you feel comfortable, heard and accepted.

Online therapy

I completed a course with Open University and BACP in October 2020 to enable me to offer online and telephone counselling. 

I offer online counselling via zoom. (Instructions are offered at contracting stage). 

I feel being able to offer online and telephone counselling allows me to be more inclusive and I enjoy being able to offer three different modes of counselling.

Qualifications and registrations

HE Diploma in person-centred and experiential counselling - level five and four. (Glyndwr University).

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

Careers guidance and development Diploma - Level Six

CPD:
Advanced dipolma in CBT, building relational depth with traumatised clients, menopause matters, ACE’s, tribes of person-centred counselling, diploma in child psychology, self-harm, suicide, how to counsel online (BACP/OU), safeguarding, sexual abuse/violence, LGBTQ+, single session therapy, burnout, relational depth, dissociation, eating disorders and trauma, pluralistic counselling, psychosis and schizophrenia, mental health first aid, bullying and harassment in the workplace, Prevent, independent supporter (EHCP), data protection, ‘legal’ highs, housing and homelessness, habitual residency/right to reside, welfare benefits, RIC/MARAC/domestic abuse.

There are no set amount of sessions. I work with you to find the best way for us to work together. 

I work with all clients, from all backgrounds and view you as unique. 

I have a particular interest in trauma and how this can effect / be held in our bodies.

Most of my university study / extra research centred around childhood sexual abuse as this is an area I am very interested in and what I first specialised in whilst training to become a counsellor.

Most common issues I support people with:

I feel our 'issues' are complex and entwined.

Past or current trauma can effect all aspects of our lives. 

I work with all client presentations.

My fee is £50 per session, payable in advance.
