Counselling Shrewsbury
Hi I'm Jackie, I am a friendly and gentle therapist who offers person-centred counselling in a confidential safe space.
Are you struggling with the many challenges of life. You may be struggling with anxiety or low mood and need a bit of support to find a way through. This can happen for many reasons, I can help you to talk about it and help you find a way through the fog. You may have noticed you no longer enjoy the sane things you used to My role is to help my clients to find a way through and give you the support to therapeutic change you need.
Feel free to send me a message if you would like a free initial exploratory call to see whether you feel counselling may help you and to explore whether I am the best therapist to support you. This will give you a welcoming space to explore your reasons for coming to therapy.
If you would like a chat to see if Therapy is for you, just click the 'send a message' - button.
Online therapy
- I offer in-person and online sessions via Google Meet.
- I also offer a free 15 minute phone call.
Online Therapy and Telephone Counselling
I have extensive experience working through online therapy. This would offer you extensive flexibility and is popular with clients due to busy workloads and schedules. It is also useful for clients with accessible needs as it does not rely on having to travel to a destination for therapy. Many clients find accessing counselling daunting, especially for the first time, some choose to access their counselling through the telephone and they have reported feeling calm and relaxed with me. Some clients struggle to leave their house, you may be a carer, you may be a parent, or you may just feel more comfortable at home. Whatever the reason, I am here to listen.
I strive to be friendly, kind and gentle and work on a compassionate basis, offering whatever support I can.

Specialisations and Expertises
- Grief and loss- the loss of a loved one can leave you feeling shocked and lost. This can lead to depression and anxiety as well as a disconnection from the present. Our therapy would help you to explore and process feelings which can be overwhelming and lonely. I am here to support you. This is a special interest of mine and I have studied additional qualifications in this area.
- Relationships ending or changing- this can be difficult to adjust to. It might be a grown up child leaving home, this is a loss in itself and can be hard to adjust to. Therapy allows you to process your emotions to increase understanding, this can lead to increased self-awareness. It can also help to find a new beginning to feel self-empowered.
- Young people- I have been working with young people for more than 28 years and I provide a safe space to explore their world. This could be a stressful time such as exam period or a bereavement. It can be coping with the pressures they are exposed to such as from relationships with family, friends and peers at school, college and university. Understanding how you feel can help you to process and work through emotions. I also support depression, anxiety and self-harm in young people.
