Counselling Cradley Heath

Hello, I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and I offer supportive, compassionate, non-judgmental, confidential, proactive counselling in a warm, comfortable, private setting.

I'm an integrative therapist, I believe in the individual’s ability to grow and develop in a way that is best for them. I am able to integrate different approaches to suit the needs of the client and I have found that many problems have their roots buried in past experiences. I have a flexible approach that is focused on client growth. Your voice will be heard and it is my aim to understand where you are in life and how that feels for you.

I work face to face from my garden therapy room (see photos) and I also offer remote therapy.

As part of my private practice I work with various agencies who supply employee support I am also a BUPA registered therapist.

Please contact me to arrange a free 20-30 min telephone assessment (no pressure to book a session). I've been doing assessment for the NHS for 10+ years, if I feel that I'm not the best person for you I will happily point you in the right direction.

If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message via the send a message - button.

Online therapy

I'm happy to work with clients online or telephone and I currently use Zoom. I have a lot of experience of working both online and via telephone.

If online I will send you a link 10 mins prior to start time. If there are any technical issues we can always revert to phone (sometimes mute zoom while we speak on the phone if internet signal fails or are patchy).

I offer therapy in

Specialisations

  • 1. Trauma
  • 2. Bereavement
  • 3. Loss
  • 4. Depression
  • 5. Stress and anxiety
  • 6. Relationship (individuals)
  • 7. Grief
  • 8. Childhood Issues/Inner Child
  • 9. Family issues (Individuals)
  • 10. Abuse

Most common issues I support people with:

Trauma - I have done extensive training in order to specialise in working with trauma. I use the triphasic model. This focuses on safety and stabilisation initially, then moves on to trauma processing (this is a very gentle process and doesn't have to involve you actually speaking of the trauma) and lastly integration and reconnection. This model loosely prescribes 20 sessions but often people feel their issues are resoled from safety/stabilization and a trusting therapeutic alliance alone (6-12 sessions).

Bereavement - I have a lot of experience of working with bereavement and have extra training in this area. Often people think their bereavement symptoms are 'abnormal' or prolonged and its useful to normalise their feelings and their process.

Relationship Dynamics - I like working with individuals who are trying to resolve relationship issues, exploring what is a healthy dynamic and looking at communication habits that we learnt in childhood that might not be serving us well in the here and now.

Depression - Exploring what is at the root of a persons low mood and what they might do to improve this. I have done a special course via my NHS role aimed at working with depression. I often say that together we are going to tip up your metaphorical jigsaw puzzle and I'm going to help you sort out the pieces. If we can find the 'outside edges' of your puzzle then you may be empowered to move forward independently to put the rest together yourself.

Stress and anxiety - Helping people find a better balance in life. Better self-care, putting yourself first. Sometimes just hearing yourself saying things in an open non-judgemental space can be transformative.
