Elena | Psychotherapist & Couples Therapist
Counselling and Psychotherapy Blackheath - London
Hello, I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Counsellor, working full time in private practice. I qualified in 2008 and have worked within various charities in the field of Children's Rights, as well as many years in private practice.
I work with couples and individuals, offering long term, short term and Single Session Therapy. While I continue to support individual clients, a significant part of my work now focuses on relationship therapy.
My specialisms include infidelity, narcissistic abuse, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, all of which often sit at the heart of relational patterns. I also have experience with binge eating, ADHD, and depression.
My interests in couples therapy include communication, neurodiversity, infidelity recovery, and helping partners navigate major life transitions together.
My private practice is based in Blackheath and I also offer online sessions via Zoom. I also offer Single Session Therapy for those who want to explore a specific issue or gain clarity around a particular challenge.
For Individuals
My individual work is rooted in Existential Psychotherapy, with a focus on your lived experience and the meanings you give to events. A key part of my work with individuals includes supporting clients through betrayal trauma, helping you understand how shocks to trust and safety affect your sense of self, your relationships, and the way you navigate the world.
We naturally try to make sense of our experiences, yet sometimes we form connections that do not truly belong together. I call these obstructive meanings or knots. Together, we identify and gently untangle these knots so that healthier narratives and relational patterns can emerge.
Existential therapy is relational at its core. We look closely at your relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you. When helpful, I incorporate body-based work to support trauma healing, as well as inner child work to deepen awareness of your internal dialogues and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
For Couples
Relationships can become caught in cycles of misunderstanding, disconnection, or unresolved hurt. Existential couples therapy provides a space to slow these patterns down so that each partner can feel seen and understood, and respond rather than react.
A central part of the work involves exploring how each person’s values, assumptions, needs, fears, and past experiences shape the current dynamic. We look at how each partner can take responsibility for their role in the relationship, communicate more intentionally, and reconnect with what matters to them.
My specialisms in couples work include:
• Rebuilding trust and connection after infidelity
• Communication difficulties
• Navigating neurodiversity within the relationship
• Supporting couples through life transitions and uncertainty
Whether you are navigating conflict, recovering from a rupture, or seeking clarity about your future together, I offer flexible options including Single Session Therapy, longer term work, and more focused therapeutic interventions.
My First Session
You are welcome to contact me for an informal 20 minute telephone or online consultation. This gives us a chance to explore whether we are a good fit and to answer any questions you may have. If you choose to continue, subsequent sessions are 50 minutes.
