Integrative Counselling Runcorn
Hi, I'm Sherrie and I am a qualified integrative Counsellor, which means I use a variety of tools and approaches from a number of different Counselling modalities to tailor the work we do together, specific to your individual needs. I am a registered Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
If you feel that life has got too much or your feeling overwhelmed, stressed, sad, worried or lonely, I can help. I can support you with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, childhood trauma, ill health, low self-esteem and many other issues.
I offer remote, telephone and face to face counselling sessions that can suit and fit into your lifestyle. Sessions are available on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, whichever works best for you.
Our sessions are your time & space to explore and get to know the real you, without judgement or pressure. I'm here to support you through your journey.
Compassion, empathy, respect and patience are at the heart of my approach, allowing my clients the opportunity to be themselves and to find their inner strength and resilience to achieve their goals.
Gaining self-awareness allows us to understand how we behave and how our past experiences affect who we are today.

Specialisations and Expertises
Being an integrative counsellor means I use a blend of different therapeutic approaches to support clients based on their unique needs. Instead of relying on just one method, I combine techniques from multiple counselling models to create a personalised approach.
Here’s what it involves:
-
Tailored Therapy – I adapt strategies from different schools of thought, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness.
-
Holistic Approach – I consider emotional, cognitive, and behavioural aspects of a person's experience to provide well-rounded support.
-
Flexibility – Rather than following a rigid framework, as an integrative counsellor, I adjust techniques based on what works best for you.
-
Empowerment – As a client, you gain insights from various counselling models to develop self-awareness and coping strategies that best suit you.
The beauty of integrative counselling is that it recognises that every person is different, and therefore, therapy should be adaptable.
I have worked with clients for a number of different of different life challenges from age 11 years old to adults from all walks of life. We have worked together to tackle, grief, terminal illness, insomia & night terrors, body shame & confidence issues, stress and anxiety. Encorporating some Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Techniques, in to our sessions (if appropriate) allows clients to identify and set realistic and meaningful goals.
Are you interested in exploring how an integrative approach might benefit a particular situation you are facing?
Most common issues I support people with:
1. Grief, Loss & Bereavement - I can help you cope with the emotional and physical symptoms of bereavement. Help you accept the reality of your loss & support you in finding a way forward with your life.2. Coping Skills - I can provide a supportive & structured approach to managing anxiety by addressing its underlying causes and equipping you with effective coping strategies, that help you manage & navigate every day life or a specific challenge or event you are facing.
3. Childhood Experiences - I can help you exploring your childhood experiences in our sessions, which can lead to a valuable insight into how you now attach to those closest to you, & make sense of what might be happening internally for you and how you have learnt to manage your life events.
4. Stress & Work related issues & relationships - I provide a safe space to explore your thoughts and emotions, helping you understand the root causes of your stress and develop strategies to cope with them.
5. Working with Adolescents - I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for young people & help them navigate the challenges of growing up. Expressing feelings & gain self-awareness helps develop coping strategies for the pressures of everyday life.
