Counselling Ashford
Hi, my name is Lucy and I am a fully qualified and insured integrative counsellor based in Ashford, Kent. I have experience in working with a variety of difficulties including anxiety, trauma, abuse, PTSD and difficult childhood experiences. I work with clients aged 17 and above, and offer both face to face and online sessions (including evening). I can provide both short and long term therapy. Seeking therapy can be daunting so if you are ready to walk a different path then please get in touch and I will walk with you.
Many of us experience times when we feel our problems are overwhelming and too much to handle.
What we need is someone to listen to us, someone who will not judge us, and someone who will truly hear us and help us heal. Counselling offers a confidential and safe space to allow you to discuss your thoughts, concerns and problems. I can sit with you whether it is troubles from your past, current difficult situations or anxieties about the future.
Choosing the right therapist is a personal choice and should feel right for you. I offer a free 30 minute assessment phone call so that we can get to know one another. I believe in the fundamental importace of the relationship between us and my aim is to help you discover your own answers, own opinions and own sense of identity.
If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message via the send a message - button.

Most common issues I support people with:
1. Trauma: Trauma doesnt have to be what society can refer to as big 'T' trauma such as being involved in a war or a natural disaster. Of course it can be, but trauma can be anything that overwhelms us physcially, psychologically or emotionally and rebounds us back to this moment even years after it passing. It is then re-enacted and relived in the present and shapes our identities and our way of viewing the world.Traumatic experiences can be anything that leaves us feeling traumatised and unable to move on:
- childhood trauma,
- neglect,
- chronic illness,
- separation,
- bullying,
- difficult family dynamics,
- assault,
- rape
- racism
These are just some of the events that can affect us in such a profound way and leave us dysregulated.
3. School/Boarding school issues
4. Relationship/family difficulties
5. Stress
6. Low self esteem/depression
