Stella | Counsellor

Online Counselling Chester

I offer online video and telephone counselling to support you with a variety of mental health concerns.

I offer a safe space to be heard, build confidence, and move forward. I am especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ people, and young adults experiencing life changes or self-doubt.

I'm passionate about supporting young adults who are struggling with identity and change, whether that means adjusting to a new phase of life, building confidence, or making sense of who you are.

  • Maybe you're adjusting to a breakup, a loss, a career change, or questioning what you really want from relationships.
  • Maybe you're exploring your sexuality or identity
  • You may be neurodivergent or coming to terms with a new diagnosis.

I provide a safe, affirming space where you can work through these experiences at your own pace.

While I cannot diagnose anyone with autism or ADHD, we can explore your experiences together and figure out what they mean for you.

Through counselling, we will work towards becoming more grounded, self-assured, and clear about your direction, so that you can move forward with confidence in who you are and the choices you make.

I also have an interest in working with people affected by family secrets and complex family dynamics. My masters dissertation explored this topic, which helped me understand how these experiences shape identity, self-esteem and relationships.

If you work with me I’ll help you:

  • Feel more confident and comfortable in yourself - so you can better understand yourself (your sexuality, neurodivergence, or who you are following life transitions), and so you can express yourself freely, without being limited by how others see you.
  • Find where you belong - discover where you fit in, whether in relationships, communities, or career spaces, without feeling like you have to change who you are
  • Become more independent and better prepared for challenges - so you can make empowered decisions about relationships or work, and live with the confidence that you can adjust to change and handle life's challenges.
  • Find hope and motivation for the future - so you can move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, whether you're embracing a new relationship or phase of life, adjusting to a diagnosis, or discovering a path that feels right for you.

Specialisations and Expertises

I work with a lot of LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients. As someone with lived experience, I understand feeling lost, misunderstood, and questioning your identity. My counselling sessions are LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodivergent affirming.

I work from the person centred approach, meaning I believe that you are the expert of your life and you have the answers. As a result, the sessions are led by you. I am not here to give advice but to help you explore what matters to you, process things, and find your own way forward.

Throughout my counselling work I've had positive outcomes supporting clients through grief and bereavement. Through working together we explore what the person meant to you, how you remember them or honour them, and how you adjust to life without them. Each relationship is different and you make your own meaning of the loss. Although grief tends to stay with you and its significance remains the same, your life will continue to grow around it.

I also do some counselling work with an employee assistance program where I support people with burnout and work-related stress.

Most common issues I support people with:

Anxiety
Depression
Grief
Self-esteem
Identity related issues
