Roxanna | Counsellor

Introduction

Hi I’m Roxanna, As a person centred counsellor I can offer you empathy, compassion, and safety along with the knowledge that I will respect that you are the expert and I will wholeheartedly listen to you and together we can work at a pace that suits you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Life can change in a blink of an eye, grief, loss, life limiting illness, historical trauma and relational issues are just a few challenges that can arise from the struggles and experiences we can be faced with either long term or through unexpected moments, leaving us to navigate overwhelming emotions, find new ways of coping.

I can offer you a time and space carved out just for you without judgement just empathy and respect for you and your needs, we will work at your pace, you the client will have the freedom to guide me where you would like to explore each session. Grounding the sessions in person centred therapy you will be able to heal and gain strength and resilience.

I work with grief and trauma related symptoms. A typical treatment plan is not a rigid set of steps, but rather a collaborative process where we explore your experiences together, guided by what feels right for you. Our work may involve gently processing painful memories, increasing emotional awareness, developing self-compassion, and finding ways to reconnect with a sense of meaning and purpose.

Online therapy

Working Online – Person-Centred Counselling

Online counselling offers the same supportive, confidential space as in-person sessions, just held through a secure video or phone platform. This allows you to access therapy from the comfort of your own environment while still receiving the same level of care, empathy, and understanding.

In our sessions, the focus remains entirely on you and what you choose to bring. My approach is person-centred, meaning I aim to offer a non-judgmental, accepting and compassionate environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Confidentiality and ethical practice are central to my work. All online sessions take place through encrypted, secure platforms to help protect your privacy. I will also discuss ways to make sure you feel safe and comfortable during our time together — for example, choosing a quiet and private space for sessions where you won’t be disturbed.

Although online counselling can feel different from meeting face-to-face, many clients find it equally effective and sometimes more accessible or convenient. The core of the counselling relationship — trust, empathy, and genuine connection — remains at the heart of the process.

About Me and How I Work

I believe that every person’s story is unique, and that therapy should reflect that. My approach is person-centred, meaning I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences safely and at your own pace.

My areas of expertise include grief and loss, anxiety, depression, family issues, stress, panic attacks (including dissociative panic), dissociation, adjustment to life changes, and the lasting effects of childhood sexual trauma. I have extensive experience supporting adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, helping them navigate its ongoing impact and move towards healing, self-acceptance, and empowerment.

I understand that everyone’s needs in therapy are different. Some people feel more comfortable knowing they have a block of sessions arranged, while others prefer the flexibility and security of working session by session. I offer both options, and together we regularly review the process and discuss when you might feel ready to end therapy — always at a pace that feels right for you.

My aim is to provide a confidential, compassionate, and ethically grounded space where you feel heard, valued, and supported. Whether you’re struggling with a specific issue or simply want time to make sense of your feelings, I’ll walk alongside you as we work together toward greater understanding and emotional wellbeing.

Who I Work With

I work with adults who may be struggling with a range of emotional and personal difficulties, including grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and family-related issues.

I have experience supporting clients who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and understand the deep and lasting impact this can have on a person’s sense of self, relationships, and wellbeing. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe for you, helping you explore your experiences and find ways to rebuild trust, confidence, and self-compassion.

I also support clients who are coping with grief and loss — whether through the death of a loved one or other significant life changes. Grief can affect us in many ways, and I offer a gentle, understanding space to help you process your emotions and move toward healing in your own time.

Whatever brings you to counselling, my approach is person-centred, meaning you are at the heart of our work. I aim to provide a safe, accepting, and confidential space where you can feel truly heard and supported.
