Online counselling - Telephone counselling
I am currently able to offer online therapy via Zoom or by using the telephone. This can be for either short-term or long-term work. Online counselling provides an opportunity to explore a personal difficulty in a confidential and supportive environment, without the need to travel.
As a sensitive, caring and highly trained empathic therapist, I can help you to feel more confident about yourself, support you to lead a more meaningful life, help you to identify what you want to change and support you to achieve your goals.
I offer a safe confidential space to focus upon how you experience the world and others. I can support you to share your feelings and thoughts in the relationship with me, giving you the freedom to imagine, express and experiment with alternative ways of being. This might be done through talking or by using creative methods, such as the use of imagery and metaphor, to provide an alternative way of working, if that is a preference.
How I work
In our first session together I will ask you some questions about yourself and what has brought you to counselling. We will work together towards a goal for your counselling work. We will work towards your goal and have a review periodically, at which time you will be able to reflect upon whether your goal has been achieved, needs to be changed, or is no longer relevant, and whether you are getting what you need out of counselling.
I am a relational counsellor, which means that our relationship is the vehicle through which you can work on your goals. We can agree a set number of sessions or agree an open ended contract, depending upon whether your needs are for shorter-term work or more long-term.

In addition to being a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, I am a qualified Occupational Therapist and Drama Therapist. I have worked for over 20 years in either the NHS, social services or the private sector, supporting people with a range of mental health and/or physical health difficulties.
