Counselling and Therapy North London
You might be here because you feel stuck, lost or burdened. Or because something just isn’t working. You may want a place to open up, for unconditional support, or to find a new way forward.
Understandably, you'll want to find the right person to talk to - someone who can meet you fully, without expectation or judgement, who is experienced and professionally trained to help provide an opportunity for growth.
Whatever you bring, you’ll be met with care - we’ll work together to understand what matters, and what best to do. You don’t need to have anything figured out beforehand, therapy is a place to arrive as you are, to find what you need.
I work with individuals, near Kings Cross and online, facing a range of challenges or difficulties:
- Emotional wellbeing: impact of anxiety, shame, frustration, anger or loneliness. Overwhelm, numbing, regulation or burnout.
- Mental health: depression, stress, isolation, ADHD, addiction, self-criticism or self-care.
- Identity and confidence: Low self-esteem, purpose, motivation or limiting beliefs.
- Relationships: Improving communication, patience, vulnerability, intimacy, and family issues.
- Trauma and loss: Navigating bereavement, processing trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions.
In our sessions, you can expect me to be curious, warm and responsive. More an active companion than a passive observer, I’ll ask questions to deepen reflection and make new connections. I'll adapt to what you need in the moment, will staying with you throughout, and regularly check to see if our work is meaningful and useful.
My approach to counselling is integrative and holistic - recognising your individuality, complexity, and the diversity of human experience. I draw from a number of therapeutic approaches, including:
- Person-Centred Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which might help to find and use compassion.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) may support our work to identify, engage and integrate your different parts.
- Gestalt Therapy or Mindfulness could offer a way to understand and resolve internal conflict, and to develop your mind-body connection.
- Existential Therapy might help us to develop insight into your deepest needs, purpose or identity.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)or Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) could offer tools or strategies to manage stress or shift outdated patterns.
Clients often say they leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, and more able to face what’s ahead - that’s what I hope for you too.

Specialisations and Expertises
My expertise lies in providing integrative therapy tailored to individuals navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and trauma. I also have experience supporting clients with ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions, helping them develop practical strategies for daily challenges.
Using approaches such as DBT, ACT, Gestalt Therapy, and IFS, I offer tools to foster resilience, self-compassion, and emotional regulation. The number of sessions needed depends on your goals, but many clients notice progress within 6-12 sessions. For deeper, ongoing work, we can explore a longer-term arrangement.
Most common issues I support people with:
-
Anxiety and Overwhelm
Whether it’s general anxiety, social anxiety, or feelings of constant worry and stress, I help clients develop practical tools to manage anxious thoughts and regain a sense of calm. We’ll explore underlying triggers and work on building resilience to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence. -
Low Self-Esteem and Self-Criticism
Struggling with self-doubt or a harsh inner critic can impact every aspect of life. I help clients explore the roots of these feelings, fostering self-compassion and confidence. Together, we’ll work on challenging limiting beliefs and cultivating a healthier, more positive relationship with yourself. -
Relationship Challenges
From communication breakdowns to navigating intimacy or managing family dynamics, relationships can be complex. I support clients in building healthier connections, improving communication, and understanding attachment styles, whether in romantic, familial, or platonic relationships. -
ADHD and Neurodiversity
Living with ADHD or other neurodiverse conditions can present unique challenges, including difficulty with focus, emotional regulation, and self-organisation. I provide tailored strategies to help clients manage these challenges, while also fostering self-acceptance and understanding of how neurodiversity influences their lives. -
Trauma and Life Transitions
Whether it’s a past trauma, bereavement, or a major life change such as career shifts or relationship endings, I offer a supportive space to process and heal. Using trauma-informed approaches, we’ll work on building resilience and finding ways to move forward with clarity and strength.

Reviews Counselling and Therapy North London
Below you will find reviews about Counselling and Therapy North London - Martin

I feel his personal approach is wonderful — I think he creates a safe environment very quickly, he's very thoughtful with his questions and very thorough about recalling things I’ve said. In that sense, he made me feel very listened to and that goes a long way. I was worried I’d get counselling from someone who was quite robotic and I appreciated that he brings his own personality and subjectivity to our sessions. It made the whole process very human and gratifying.
