Counselling Shrewsbury
Life can lead you to crossroads that you never anticipate
Does everything feel unmanageable? You might find yourself struggling daily with intense feelings of anxiety, stress, uncertainty, or loss. Maybe you feel like you've lost control of your life, your emotions, and your responses to everyday challenges.
Life’s twists and turns can be overwhelming
The weight of your past experiences, regrets, and anxiety about the future can take hold when you're trying to make sense of it all by yourself. It's understandable to feel stuck or disconnected while searching for meaning and purpose.
You may not really know what the problem is, but feel you could do with some support. You don't have to face this alone.
Hello, I'm Rebecca
I’ll bring a calming presence to our sessions. I am warm, and you'll find me easy to talk to. I will help you feel comfortable as you open up about your experiences, thoughts, and feelings with me. I know it can be really hard to choose a therapist when life already feels so difficult, and I want to reassure you, I’ll help you feel at ease. I would love to work with you and help you reconnect with life. I understand, and I am here to help.
Perhaps you’re lacking confidence and self-esteem, feeling depressed, anxious, and experiencing stressful life changes. You may be grieving the loss of someone close to you or navigating difficult relationships, either personally or at work.
Maybe you find yourself at a crossroads and feel unsure of yourself and which way to turn. When life takes hold, feelings of stress, anxiety, grief, or isolation can gradually settle in and leave you feeling weighed down and alone.
I work alongside people just like you—struggling with loss, identity, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions, or challenging transitions. In our sessions, you can share any thoughts and feelings, knowing you will be fully accepted and supported. As we delve into the core of who you are, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we will identify your strengths and what motivates you, so we can work to get you back on track and help you gain a clearer sense of how to move forward.
Leading to healthier interactions and a stronger, kinder connection with yourself. This journey can help you grow in confidence, rediscover happiness, and make positive choices for your future.
Grief support
---Testimonial - grief support
'I want to thank you so much for your time, Rebecca. This hurt will always be with us, but you have taught me how to deal with it and breathe. Just listening to your voice and talking about everything was a big help...'
---
As an experienced Cruse Bereavement counsellor, I have a special interest in grief and loss. I understand that some days feel lighter, while grief can return unexpectedly and weigh heavily on you.
'Grief isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s silent and slow. Sometimes it looks like functioning on the outside while falling apart inside...'
Sharing your feelings won't make your grief disappear, but together, we can find ways to manage those intense and challenging emotions at your own pace. I can help you find understanding during a time when everything feels confusing, unfamiliar, and uncertain.

Specialisations and Expertises
Charity Counselling—As a counsellor, I actively support local charities, collaborating with GP referrals, self-referrals, and our local Social Prescribing Program by providing in-person and remote counselling.
Cruse Bereavement—As a long-term counsellor for Cruse, I specialise in Bereavement Counselling. I provide compassionate support both over the phone and in person for those grappling with the complex stages of grief that grief brings to their lives.
Age UK and The Royal Voluntary Service—I supported those who felt most isolated and often lacked family support, and assisted those living with dementia.
How therapy supported me— 'When I accept myself just as I am, then I change...'
I've faced my own challenges in life, and when I felt stuck and overwhelmed, I leaned into therapy. It supported me, creating the calm to reconnect with myself during challenging times as I navigated a midlife career change, went through a divorce, faced health issues, and coped with the emotional toll that Parkinson's disease took on a parent, as well as my own late ADHD diagnosis. Therapy guided me through my experiences to accept the changes, reframe my thought process, and find a new sense of self and purpose.
ADHD and Therapy—Drawing on my own lived experience of ADHD, I will guide you to recognise and understand how your unique experiences have shaped your identity and impacted your life as we unpack the highs and lows. Together, we will explore how ADHD shows up in your past and present by highlighting the challenges you’ve faced and any self-doubt tied to your sense of self as you begin to embrace and accept all aspects of who you are to live authentically.
You're not alone in this—many of us are on similar journeys

Reviews Counselling Shrewsbury
Below you will find reviews about Counselling Shrewsbury - Rebecca

I had sessions with Rebecca via zoom, initially I wasn't sure how this would work, but after the first session it felt very comfortable and worked well for me being in my own home and secure setting, but I felt like it was still face to face. Rebecca put me at ease and it was easy to be open and honest with her about my thoughts. She allowed me to speak, but gave advice and navigated the conversations to help me.
I feel that the sessions have helped me to question my negative thoughts and realise I can sit in my emotions. Rebecca has helped me greatly to move forward and allowed me to learn strategies to help my mental health in the future. Thank you.
