Louise | Psychotherapist
Psychotherapy Macclesfield
Hi, I’m Louise. Are you struggling with anxiety, low mood, an eating disorder, relationship issues, grieving a loss or simply sensing there’s more to life, therapy can be a valuable space to explore and address these challenges. In addition to the above I'm interested and experienced working with neurodivergence. Therapy can be a great place to explore this, understand more, and develop compassion and coping strategies.
The focus is very much on you, and our relationship, our human-to-human interactions. We will work at your pace, building trust as we navigate both sessions and the process together. Our work can be based in the present or seek to explore the past.
My approach is evidence based and underpinned by relevant training. I care that you achieve what you want from therapy. Feedback from previous clients regularly highlights their progress made, a sense of safety in the relationship when talking about difficult things, as well as the importance of having a sense of me as a person. I aim to be supportive and open, accepting and encouraging of thoughts and feelings, direct when needed but also compassionate and real.
As a therapist, I have experience working within organisations including both charity and an NHS clinical setting (treating a variety of eating disorders including binge eating and ARFID). In addition to the above I work in private practice.
My approach is integrative, this means that I can work in a flexible and adaptive way with methods that best suit you. I work from a person-centred base whilst drawing on CBT (ACT), attachment theory and compassion theory.
If you are interested in the possibility of working together then I offer a free 30 minute introductory consultation (telephone/online). This is an opportunity to share what you would like to explore and for us to decide whether we feel that we can work together and whether I have the right experience/approach.
If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message via the send a message - button.
