Online therapy

Hi my name is Chrissi, thank you for taking the time out to look at my profile. I am a fully Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist registered with the BABCP, and a registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC. I have over 20 years experience of working with people struggling with emotional and psychological problems. As well as working independently as a CBT Therapist, I continue to work as a Psychological Psychotherapist within the NHS.

My approach in therapy is collaborative, active and holistic. I offer a reliable, confidential and non-judgemental space to help you explore your inner thoughts and feelings, and support you in times of transition, distress and emotional need.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT is a very practical and structured type therapy. At the start of each session we set an agenda, a bit like a plan of what we are going to talk about in that session. We develop a visual diagram to help us understand what unhelpful thoughts and behaviours may be maintaining your problem; this is sometimes called a 'vicious cycle'.  We identify your therapy goals so that each session is purposeful in helping you work towards your goals. During therapy you will be introduced to specific skills and exercises which help to facilitate positive changes. At the end of each session we discuss assignments for you to practice inbetween your sessions. This is a key part of CBT and why it works so well.

If you would like more information about how CBT may be able to help you, or would like to arrange an initial complimentary consultation, or to self-refer, please get in touch by sending me a email or a message via the contactform.

Warmest Wishes

Chrissi

Online therapy

I offer face to face therapy sessions or online.

Online therapy is very similar to face to face, and research has shown that it is just as effective as in person therapy. I have found that many clients find that it fits better into their other life commitments than attending face to face. I use Zoom or Microsoft Teams, it’s a very straightforward process; you download either onto your device and I send you an email with an appointment link in it just before the therapy session.

Some clients however do still prefer to be seen face to face, If this is the case I can also offer you this.
I am based in Howden and see people face to face in Yorkshire. DN14.

The venue where I see people face to face has on site free parking, toilet facilities and disability access.
