Lucy | Mental Health, EMDR
EMDR practitioner Aylesbury
My name is Lucy. Im a mum of three, living in the Buckinghamshire area. I’m a qualified mental health nurse with a passion for supporting emotional wellbeing. I work as both a group EMDR practitioner and a group therapy facilitator, creating safe spaces where people can explore, heal, and grow — together.
Sometimes, we just know that something doesn’t feel quite right - even if we can’t put our finger on it. Having a safe, supportive space to explore those feelings, to understand where they come from, and to think about what might help, can be the very beginning of meaningful change. That’s where the journey often starts.
Maybe you do know what’s wrong. Maybe you’re living with it every day - anxiety, depression, intrusive or distressing thoughts - and it feels like you’re stuck with them. But there are ways forward. There are approaches and tools we can use together to help you understand these experiences, move through them, or find a healthier way to live alongside them.
I’ve been a registered mental health nurse for over 20 years, working across hospitals, prisons, and now in my own private practice. I bring a wide range of experience in mental health, mental illness, and - most significantly - trauma.
Trauma affects more than just the mind. It can shape the body, the nervous system, and how we move through everyday life. I have a deep understanding of how those impacts show up, and how we can begin to gently work with them.
I offer both one-to-one and group therapy. Sessions can take place face-to-face, online, or even outdoors - walking and talking can be a powerful therapeutic approach in itself.
Having had therapy myself - in both group and one-to-one settings - I know it’s not]always easy. But I also know it’s doable, and that it can lead to real self-awareness and the freedom to live more authentically.
Life is hard. Sometimes we just need space to make sense of what we’re carrying so that we can move forward with a little less weight.
Some people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on. Others feel a bit lost, unsure of where to begin. Both are absolutely okay. I believe our past experiences shape our present and future, and by exploring our thoughts, emotions, and actions, we can deepen our understanding of ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.
