Counselling Ringwood
Hi! I'm Jamie. I'm a qualified person-centred counsellor and a member of the BACP, based in Ringwood, Hampshire.
I aim to give you the time and space you need to explore whatever is on your mind, and I will work my hardest to stay with you every step of the way.
While I wish to make myself available to anyone who would like to work with me, my particular areas of focus are trauma and identity, in the many forms that each can take.
What do I do?
I can offer counselling to individuals. These can be either over online video sessions, in person in a dedicated counselling space, or walk and talk sessions in the local area.
Personal Experience
Sometimes it can be helpful to know that the person we're opening up to has personal experience in an area, as well as professional. As a non-binary trans man, I hope to be able to offer a space where people can explore their experience of all aspects of their identity, particularly gender and sexuality, without fear of alienation.
If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message.
Online therapy
I offer 50 minute video counselling sessions hosted over a specialised online therapy platform. You don't need to download anything to use this platform - we will agree a session time and I will send you a link, which you just need to click on at the agreed time to access the session.

Specialisations
I have particular professional training and experience with working with people through trauma and PTSD.I also have a personal and professional passion for exploring gender and relationship differences, neurodiversity, and shame.
I believe that exploring ourselves is lifelong work, but counselling isn't necessarily! How long counselling feels helpful to you can depend on many things, like life events, financial situation, and the relationship that is built with the counsellor.
With that in mind, I tend to work with clients medium- to longer-term, as this allows us to build trust and explore deeper topics with less sense of pressure.
