Counselling Southampton

If you're struggling to paddle your canoe through some dark and choppy seas, maybe counselling could help you ride the waves and find calmer, more sparkling waters. Telling your story and exploring what's behind stuck patterns of thinking, feeling and relating may lead to relief and moving on in your life.

As well as offering short and long-term talk therapy, a lot of my clients find creative counselling enjoyable and helpful and also benefit from mindfulness and energy-psychology stress management practices.

I provide a space where you can:

  • Be heard. Being listened to and deeply accepted for who you are matters.
  • Explore what's going on and do something positive about what's keeping you stuck.
  • Get creative. Talking is vital but easy-going creative expression could support your words.
  • Promote balance by using practical methods to reduce stress and soothe upset.

I love using strengths coaching to help people feel more energised and purposeful in their lives and am also an experienced careers adviser.

Online therapy

I mainly use Google Meet and WhatsApp but am happy to use other secure platforms.

If you like the idea of using creative methods as part of counselling or coaching, we can also do this in the online space. What we do will depend on what you have, or are willing to get hold of, which could include using:
  • Paper and felt tip pens, crayons and couloured pencils.
  • Soft things such as cuddly toys, cushions, felts and pompoms.
  • Hard things such as LEGO, stones, shells and other meaningful objects.
  • Sand tray.
  • Photographs, postcards, images and music.
  • The space you're in to move, stand up etc. You're an embodied mind after all!
  • And... well, the sky's the limit when it comes to getting creative!
