I’m Lauren. I am a curious and open-minded counsellor and psychotherapist.  I am also a book lover and tea drinker. But what I am most interested in is you, what has brought you here and how I might be able to help.

 

I offer counselling and psychotherapy online or face-to-face at my practice. I believe that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions and offering both, or a mixture provides greater flexibiity for you.

If you choose to work with me face-to-face, we will meet in my practice in Melton Mowbray. The practice is centrally located with plenty of parking nearby.​ This will be your space as well as mine, where you can feel free to curl up on the sofa, grab a cushion or a blanket and enjoy a nice warm cuppa if you like.​
 

 

How I Can Help

There could be a number of reasons that have brought you here.

Maybe you’ve lost yourself within a current relationship or family role and need space to explore who you are and how you communicate that to those around you.

Perhaps you have lost your confidence or self-esteem and need to find your way back to yourself or a way forward to a new chapter of your life.

You might need an inclusive and affirmative space to explore parts of your identity.

It could be that you have something specific you’d like to talk about, such as a bereavement or loss, or an event from the past you’d like to explore in more depth.

Or maybe you don’t know what it is, but you know you just don’t feel right. And that’s okay too.

Only you can know who is the right therapist for you. It is important that you find someone you click with and can begin to trust.  I am always happy to offer an initial telephone or online call to see if I am the right fit for you before you book your first session.

I can’t promise therapy will be easy, but I'm sure you already know that. What I can promise is that it is my job to listen to you in a way that family, friends and colleagues, as much as they care about you, can’t. I want you to feel seen and heard. Getting to know yourself deeply can feel like scary stuff, but it can change your life.

My Approach

If you’re interested in the “therapy-speak”, I’m a person-centred, pluralistic therapist. In simple terms, it means that you know yourself best, and even if you don't feel like yourself right now and have your doubts, I know that with some time and the right therapeutic relationship, you will find that deep down you know what you need.


I trust that you can find a way back to yourself with the right support, and that we can work together to ensure that the support I offer is tailored to you and your needs.

Online therapy

If you choose to work with me online, we will meet via a video conferencing platform. I have used a number of different platforms for online sessions, including Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, Skype and WhatsApp. During sessions, ​I will be based at my practice, or my office at home. There will never be anyone else in the room. You should also ensure you are somewhere you feel safe and able to speak freely and without interruptions.​

Sessions are £50 per hour (60 minutes)

I do have a number of discounted/concessionary places available. Please let me know if this is something you need.

I offer a free 15 minute phone or online consultation if you would like to have a quick chat before booking your first session.
