Counselling Bushey
I offer a confidential, calm and non-judgemental space where we can work together to explore your feelings and understand your experiences from your perspective. My aim is to support you in making sense of what’s happening in your life and to help you move towards greater clarity and balance.
Through my work as an NHS counsellor, I’ve supported people experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and the challenges life throws our way. My background in the charitable sector has also given me deep insight into the pressures families face — including postnatal depression, attachment difficulties, childhood trauma, addictions, and domestic abuse.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside people from many different backgrounds, ages, and walks of life — each with their own story and challenges. What I’ve learned is that everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, or major life changes, I’m here to walk alongside you as you make sense of what you’re going through and move towards a place of greater understanding and balance.

Specialisations and Expertises
At the heart of my work is building a trusting, compassionate relationship with each client, focusing on you as a whole person rather than just symptoms.
Low mood or depression can arise from many life experiences, such as bereavement, major life changes, relationship difficulties, unresolved feelings, or being overly self-critical. These experiences may be recent or from the past.
My approach helps you explore the underlying emotions behind depression, encouraging you to express and make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Together, we work towards developing new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you.
While my expertise includes early childhood experiences and parenting, I also support a wide range of mental health and wellbeing concerns.
I offer both short-term therapy (up to 20 weeks) and open-ended therapy, with the structure agreed at the start and reviewed as needed throughout our work together.
Most common issues I support people with:
Parenting & Family Life
I offer support to parents, including those expecting, drawing on 8 years as a Family Support Coordinator at Home-Start. I help you reflect on your experiences, understand the impact of how you were parented, and explore ways to feel “good enough” for your children.
Depression
Using a Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression approach, I help you recognise emotional responses, explore their meaning, and develop understanding and strategies to manage low mood.
Anxiety
I provide support for managing anxiety, helping you understand anxious thoughts and feelings and develop coping strategies, informed by my experience working within the NHS.
Bereavement & Loss
Loss can create complex emotions and feelings of loneliness. I offer compassionate support, drawing on NHS counselling experience, to help you navigate the grief process and find understanding.
Relationships
I support clients facing relationship difficulties, exploring patterns formed in early attachment and their impact on adult relationships. I also offer guidance and understanding around issues such as domestic abuse.
