Hello, I'm Catherine I have a BSc(Hons) Degree in Therapeutic Counselling. I'm an experienced mental health therapist working with children, young people and adults. I can help you with anxiety, depression, stress, anger, grief, trauma and relationship issues. I'm compassionate, kind and friendly, offering a secure calm space to work through any issues together at your own pace.

Well I know that you will be in good hands, I'm genuinely here to find out about you.

Life can be really shit sometimes. I know, I've been through my own demons in life and I've felt lost, isolated and stuck. I understand how talking to someone can really help. Just having someone who will listen to understand, to help to explore the loose ends and make sense of things. To go away feeling heard and not so alone can help everything feel a little lighter.

Therapy for me has been on-going, I have always asked myself "why did I not start this sooner?" Especially when I think back to my younger years when I really struggled with self-doubt and anxiety, never feeling good enough or liked. Therapy has helped me to understand myself better, to guide me into positive relationships/choices in life and be aware of my shadow side (the parts about me I want to change).

Online therapy

I use the Microsoft Teams app for all my online sessions.

Once you get booked in and payment has been made I will set up a meeting link which will be emailed to you to use when it is your session day and time.

Specialisations and Expertises

I have many years experience working in NHS mental health homes since 2021 supporting those experiencing and living with mental health problems. I also have a vast experience working with young people through school bullying, exam stress, future goals and career ideas. I'm a parent myself and as well as my therapeutic training I find this also helps to engage with young people, to be able to tail age-appropriate language, use creative activities that align with their developmental needs. I also work with adults to work through a range of life issues and challenges.

I currently work in private practice and as an affiliate counsellor for EAP workplace throughout the week. This is working with people who are struggling with burn out, work stress, or personal issues. I provide therapy in-person or remotely using the Teams app throughout the week and some week nights. Thursday afternoon/evening are my in person late sessions.

I review sessions as we go along, I tend to recommned 4/6 sessions with a review. Sessions can be short term or long term.
