Sameena | Person-Centred and CBT Therapist
Introduction
Hi, my name is Sameena. I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and student CBT therapist offering counselling for both adults and teenagers, face-face in Prestwich and Radcliffe, as well as online sessions. I provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about the challenges you may be facing.
I work with individuals experiencing family or relationship breakdowns, as well as those facing more complex difficulties such as alcohol addiction and substance misuse. I understand how overwhelming these experiences can feel and offer compassionate support to help you explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.
My approach combines Person-Centred counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), allowing me to tailor sessions to your individual needs. I focus on building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood and supported.
Alongside my work with adults, I also support teenagers and young people. I have experience working within school settings, helping young people who may be struggling with emotional distress, anxiety, low mood, friendship difficulties, or the pressures of GCSEs and exams. I understand that adolescence can be a particularly challenging time, and I aim to create a calm and reassuring environment where young people feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Through counselling, I support clients in developing greater self-understanding, learning helpful coping strategies and building resilience. My aim is to help you feel more empowered, gain clarity around your difficulties and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
I offer face-to-face counselling for adults and teenagers in Prestwich and Radcliffe, as well as online sessions, making support accessible for those who may prefer remote appointments.
Online therapy
I offer online therapy via zoom and telephone, providing a flexible and confidential way to access counselling from the comfort of your own space. Online sessions can be just as effective as face-face therapy and allow you to fit sessions around work, family or other comittments.Qualifications and registrations

Specialisations and Expertises
Teenage Counselling
I have a particular interest in supporting teenagers who may be struggling with the pressures that come with adolescence. I work with young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, identity struggles, friendship difficulties, and challenges at home or school.
Alongside my private practice, I also work within local schools as a teenage counsellor, supporting young people in a familiar environment where they can talk openly and feel understood. My approach is warm, approachable and non-judgemental, helping teenagers feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace.
Drug and Alcohol Addiction
I also specialise in working with individuals experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction. I understand that addiction can often be linked to deeper emotional pain, trauma, stress, or life challenges, and I provide a compassionate space where clients can explore these underlying experiences without judgement.
My aim is to support individuals in understanding their relationship with substances, developing healthier coping strategies, and working towards meaningful and sustainable change.
