Ellie | Integrative Therapist

Integrative Therapy Hackney - London

Hello, my name is Ellie and I'm a qualified Counsellor working face-to-face and Online. I know the idea of therapy can feel daunting and vulnerable at first. My main focus is on providing a genuine, friendly and judgement-free space where you feel comfortable to bring your whole self. Together we will explore and understand your challenges and find the best way forward.

Therapy can be a powerful tool for dealing with life’s challenges, working through difficult emotions and exploring what matters most to you. I have experience supporting people with a range of challenges, and always aim to create a friendly and confidential space for my clients to openly explore their thoughts and feelings. Some issues I commonly work with include a lack of direction and purpose, confidence and self-esteem issues, relationship or family difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, unhelpful thoughts and behaviour patterns and challenges relating to social identities.

As an integrative therapist, I am trained in a range of evidence-based approaches. This means that I can bring different perspectives and tools to the conversation, to support you to gain personal insights, work through internal conflicts and barriors and take steps towards the changes that would make a difference.

I incorporate a diverse range of therapeutic models in my approach. I am informed by Person-centred therapy and so aim to create a non-judgmental and collaborative therapeutic relationship with my clients. I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful patterns of thinking/ behaving, and Psychodynamic Therapy to explore how clients’ early experiences influence their current ways of relating and behaving. Finally, I draw on Existential therapy to support clients in accepting what is beyond their control, confronting the inherent challenges of being human, and exploring ways to create meaning and purpose in their lives.

Most common issues I support people with:

1. Anxiety & stress - Anxiety and stress often arise when our minds and bodies respond to uncertainty, past experiences, or patterns of thinking and behaviour. Feeling tense, overwhelmed, or on edge is understandable. Together, we explore what these feelings are trying to protect you from, notice patterns in your thoughts and behaviours, and develop practical strategies to manage uncertainty and respond to triggers with more confidence and self-compassion.

2. Relationship & couples difficulties - Relationships can bring joy, but also hurt and triggers from past attachment experiences. Therapy can help you notice how each partner contributes to conflict, understand underlying emotions and needs, and develop ways of relating that feel safer, clearer, and more connected.

3. Low mood & depression - Depression often arises when our brains and bodies respond to prolonged stress, difficult circumstances, past experiences, or unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour. Feeling low, stuck, or overwhelmed is a common and understandable response. In therapy, we untangle these experiences, explore how they maintain low mood, and understand the options available to move forward in ways that feel practical, emotionally aligned, and meaningful.

4. Burnout & overwhelm - Feeling chronically exhausted, drained, or emotionally depleted is understandable, especially in demanding work or life environments. Burnout often arises when pressure, expectations, and prolonged stress exceed what we can manage. In therapy, we explore the circumstances and patterns that contribute to this, understand how it affects your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and work together to find practical, sustainable ways to restore energy, boundaries, and balance.

5. Self-esteem & identity - Low self-esteem often develops from past experiences, relational hurts, or repeated self-critical patterns, making it understandable to feel unsure, anxious, or disconnected from who you are. Therapy can help you notice these patterns, reconnect with your values, and build self-compassion, confidence, and a clearer sense of identity and direction.
