Online Counselling Uxbridge
Do you ever get the feeling that you are simply going round and round in circles? A hamster stuck on that wheel.Or perhaps you have been pretending that everything is OK for such a long time you're not even sure what the truth is anymore. Or even what OK is supposed to feel like.
You get asked what you want or need and have absolutely no idea how to answer the question. You stand there umming and ahhing, uncertain because to be honest, everyone comes before you and always has done.
You've spent so long putting everyone else first you feel as though you have ceased to exist.
When you are a people pleaser you become a master at administering to other peoples needs but a novice at knowing your own.
The 'I'm good' and 'I'm fine' reply are your default setting.
Have you ever wondered why?
If you feel stuck in a rut, your life is on repeat and you're exhausted, frustrated and stuck then perhaps it is time to find out what's going on.
With curiosity, compassion and understanding.
In our counselling sessions I will listen, I will notice and I will gently challenge. Together we can find our what is keeping you stuck, why perhaps you keep pushing your own needs down so that these patterns can be broken and you can start to explore a new path on the journey of your life.
Online therapy
I work both online and in person in the Hillingdon area.Online sessions can be easily slotted into your work day, or the busy schedule you have.
All you need is a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted and you will feel able to talk about the things you would like to.
Online counselling can offer that versatility.
We can not have a session if you are driving in your car, for safety reasons, or in a very noisy crowded space.
I will send out a link for our meeting when I receive your payment for the session.
Any issues with our internet connection and we can continue that session on the phone, this has proved successful for many of my clients, or we can rebook the session.
I too guarantee complete confidentiality in the space I am in. I work within the ethical guidelines of the BACP and NCPS.

Most common issues I support people with:
People pleasing - This can be especially challenging for people working in caring professions. If you spend your day looking after others and putting their needs first it can be extremely hard and uncomfortable to find the time to do that for yourself.
Boundary setting - Always taking those calls, always saying yes when you are absloutely exhausted, and when you do say no, being swamped by feelings of guilt, of letting others down. Not quite sure where to start or even how to find ways of honouring those friendships whilst still looking after yourself. In our session we can use the time to practise and talk about how this may look to you in your life.
Inner critic - What's this? It's that little voice that tells you what you're doing wrong, that you're letting people down, that you're never enough. We can look at this voice and see what it's purpose is so that you can quieten it down and learn to be proud of what you are achieving.
Self-esteem - What is it that makes you so hard on yourself? What messages have you received through your life that may have worn you down and left you feeling less than you are worth?
Unconscious behaviour - Sometimes we feel so stuck and lost, we feel like we are doing our best but nothing seems to change or go our way. We can look at how you react and behave so that we can understand those unconscious ways which are keeping you going round and round in the same old cycle.
