Relational Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling Norwich
I am a relational integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, that can sound quite complicated, but basically that means three things.
Relational means that at its heart, my work is about the relationship between you and me. I believe healing happens through a safe, respectful, and genuine connection. Our relationship isn’t just a background to the work - it’s an important part of the therapy itself.
How you feel with me, how you express yourself, and how we talk about what’s happening between us can give us valuable insight into patterns that may also show up in your life outside therapy.
Integrative means I don’t believe one single approach fits everyone. I can draw on different therapeutic ideas and tools and I tailor this to what you might need as an individual.
Psychotherapeutic simply means I believe our past experiences shape how we see ourselves and the world and how we think and feel and perhaps more importantly what we can’t think or feel. Working with me means exploring deeper feelings, past experiences and patterns, at a pace that feels safe for you, so that real and lasting change can happen.
In practice, this means I aim to offer you a safe, compassionate and inclusive space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and make sense of what’s going on for you.

My qualifications include an Advanced Diploma and BSc in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Middlesex University and three years of clinical experience with Norfolk and Waveney MIND. I also have experience of working with trauma and substance misuse with Emerging Futures in Norwich.

A Personalised Approach to Counselling
As a counsellor, I provide a safe, compassionate and confidential space where we usually meet at the same time each week. In our first sessions, we will explore what you hope to achieve and set meaningful goals together. If you are unsure, that’s completely fine - we can work through your current challenges and discover the best way forward.
Flexible and Client‑Focused Therapy
Counselling can have flexible timeline. You are always free to decide when to pause or end therapy. I recommend planning for the ending so we can reflect on your progress and ensure you feel confident moving ahead. Counselling can be open ended or I also offer time-limited counselling between 6 to 12 sessions focused on a specific issue. We can find a rhythm that suits your needs, adjusting as life changes.
Supporting Your Growth and Wellbeing
My aim is to make sure therapy feels right for you at every stage. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, depression, low self‑esteem, relationship difficulties, or personal growth, counselling offers the opportunity to gain understanding, build resilience, and move toward lasting wellbeing.
Most common issues I support people with:
Healing Hidden Parts of the Self Through Counselling
Many of us carry hidden parts of ourselves — experiences, emotions, and behaviours that once felt unacceptable to others. To protect ourselves emotionally, physically, socially, and mentally, we may have learned to hide or split off these aspects of identity. Over time, however, denied or invalidated experiences can damage our sense of self, leaving us feeling shame, isolation, loneliness, or worthlessness.
Men are often particularly affected, as cultural expectations discourage vulnerability and emotional expression. The reality of high male suicide rates shows how devastating this can be when emotions remain hidden and unspoken.
Counselling provides a safe, compassionate, and confidential space to explore these parts of self. Therapy helps you reconnect with experiences you may have buried, understand how past events still shape your present behaviour, and develop greater self‑compassion and empathy.
Through counselling, you can gain awareness of patterns that influence your life today, begin to heal emotional wounds, and move toward feeling more whole and content. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self‑esteem, relationship challenges or emotional isolation, counselling offers the opportunity to grow, rediscover your authentic self, and build resilience for lasting wellbeing.
