Rob | Integrative Counsellor and Supervisor
Integrative Counselling Exeter
On the outside, you seem fine - calm, capable, holding it all together. But inside, it’s a different story. I work with adults who are silently battling with pressure, anger, anxiety, or a sense that something is missing from their lives.
Many of the people I work with describe a feeling of living behind a mask, smiling, coping, keeping up appearances, while privately battling anxiety, low mood, grief, or a sense of disconnection. If that resonates with you, you're not alone. I can help.
I'm Rob. I specialise in working with adults and young people who are seeking relief from the pressures of anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement, and relationship difficulties. Whether you’re going through a life transition, carrying unresolved pain, or simply feeling stuck, I offer a warm, confidential space where you can be yourself – no filters, no expectations.
We'll work together to understand what’s going on beneath the surface, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, and find practical steps to help you move forwards.
Counselling with me is collaborative – I see you as the expert in your own life, and my role is to support and guide you towards clarity, resilience, and emotional peace. This isn't about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you reconnect with your own strength, values, and sense of self.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by life, coping with loss, or navigating relationship challenges, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and care.
Counselling can be a game-changer. Here’s how it helps:
- Breaks the worry loop – I can help you spot unhelpful thought patterns and teach you how to reframe them, so your mind doesn’t default to panic or worst-case scenarios.
- Builds coping tools – You’ll learn techniques like breathing exercises, mindfulness, grounding, or cognitive-behavioral strategies that give you more control when anxiety hits.
- Creates a safe space – Talking through fears with someone who gets it, without judgment, can reduce shame and isolation, making anxiety feel less powerful.
- Targets root causes – Therapy can explore underlying triggers (past experiences, trauma, perfectionism), helping you understand why anxiety shows up and how to shift long-term patterns.
- Boosts confidence – As you build skills and gain insight, you feel more equipped to face challenges instead of avoiding them.
I started my private practice because I saw how debilitating anxiety and depression can be in people’s lives. Whether this started with workplace bullying, worry about a key event in life, health issues, loss of a job, or simply getting to a point in life where you just don’t know where to turn next, it is possible to take back some control and feel better.
With 16 years of experience working in leadership roles, supporting large numbers of staff, I’ve seen how the barriers of anxiety and depression can seriously affect daily life. As a therapist, I have helped many clients take back control of their thinking, and lead more fulfilling lives, with contentment and positivity. I’d love to help you too. I am a fully qualified and registered counsellor with BACP and NCPS.
