Hi, I’m Stephen.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. Let me tell you something about myself and how I work.
As a therapist, with a background of working within the field of mental health social work for over 12 years, I bring a wide range of experience, learning and understanding to the difficulties and challenges my clients face.

As a therapist, with a background of working within the field of mental health social work for over 12 years, I bring a wide range of experience, learning and understanding to the difficulties and challenges my clients face.
As a qualified mental health social worker and Approved Mental Health Professional, I have spent my career working in secondary mental health services helping a variety of people with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties.
I have completed post-graduate training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends as gold standard treatment for depression, anxiety and other disorders, as well as having a good understanding of ADHD, autism and neurodiversity.
Others would desribe me as, warm, compassionte and energetic and my approach aims to provide you with a safe space within which to share and explore what is causing you distress, conflict, anxiety, or difficulties in mood and managing your emotions.
Working together, my aim is to help you come to your own understanding of what is keeping you stuck in patterns of thinking and behaving, which you often already know would be helpful to break, but are struggling to set yourself free from.
We start by developing an awareness of these unhelpful patterns and consider how you can set about changing them to begin to relate differently to your experiences. In this way, you can start to move towards what it is you would like to achieve; whether this relates to work, home, relationships, your physical and mental well-being; or in any other areas that are important to you.
You and your story will be listened to without judgement and you will accepted for who you are as we explore and find ways of helping you to take better care of yourself.

Sessions are charged at £60 and are for 50 minutesAvailability
- I have availability to see clients face-to-face on Mondays & Fridays.
