Online psychotherapy and counselling

Working through life's challenges together...

I am a qualified integrative Psychotherapist with a science degree in counselling and psychotherapy. My modality is the Clarkson 5 relationship model which underpins the way I work. I believe that building a trusted theraputic relationship is key to a good outcome in therapy. As a BACP registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor, based in the UK; I adhere to the guidelines and ethics set by the BACP.

Prior to working as a therapist, I gained experience working within various services, such as mental health services, hospitals, rehabilitation, community health visiting service, learning support, end of life and early years settings . This experience allows me to work holistically, as I believe all aspects of our overall health interlink.

I work in private practice providing Psychotherapy for couples and individuals, and Counselling Supervision for Students and Qualified Counsellors/Psychotherapists. My private practice is well established and built upon recommendations. In addition to this, I specialise in Bereavement Counselling and work with Cruse bereavement Sutton, supporting all areas of bereavement. Within Cruse bereavement, I support individuals, run online bereavement support groups and provide supervision support to bereavement support volunteers.

I also worked for many years at Sutton Women's Centre (Domestic abuse) and Surrey Care Trust (adolescents).

Online and telephone therapy

I provide counselling flexibility, to ensure you can access support wherever you are. I provide appointments online, by telephone or face-to-face in Tadworth, Surrey.

Tailored to your needs

The psychotherapy/counselling I offer is always tailored to meet your individual needs. I incorporate theoretical approaches, techniques & tools from various schools & traditions, including psychodynamic, existential, humanistic & transpersonal.

I will support you to access your own inner wisdom, finding a way forward so that life feels balanced and manageable. I will not give advice, try to fix you or tell you what to do; You are your own expert.

I see Counselling as a process rather than a quick fix. I am a very warm and welcoming individual and will take time to build a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship with you, to enable you to speak openly and freely without any judgement. I can provide alternative ways of thinking and viewing your situation. I will challenge your thoughts, use techniques or tools for accessing your unconscious mind and provide space for emotional healing..and much more. This might mean working short term or long term, depending on your needs from the space.

Experienced areas include:

Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Childhood abuse, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Relationship issues, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Sudden & traumatic death, & Work-related stress.

Continued professional development (CPD)

I am a dedicated professional, continuing to advance my professional knowledge by attending various workshops, seminars, reading various literature on therapeutic techniques, current neuroscience findings & mental health research.

Online therapy

You will always feel supported and I am always happy to answer any question to make therapy begin with ease. This is why I offer a free phone or video Q&A, (up to 15 minutes) to answer any questions you may have about therapy and how I work.

Your initial session is called a consultation or assessment. This appointments for 50 minutes. Once you have booked through the portal, admin will be notified and you will then receive a welcome email containing digital forms. You will need to complete the intake forms before we meet. Your consultation will feel more personal having complete the forms prior. It is important to be aware that the consultation may feel more directive than usual, as my aim is to gain a deeper understanding of your current situation and your needs from therapy.

It is important that you find someone with who you feel comfortable, which is why at your first session you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions and share your expectations for both your sessions and myself. This session is about getting to know each other, for me to find more about you and your needs and to share how I work. There will be a time in the assessment for you to speak openly about the issues you are facing.
