Counselling & Psychotherapy Manchester
Hello, I'm Eileen Fisher. I offer counselling and psychotherapy for both individuals and couples, as well as disordered eating and nutrition support and advice.
I have 2 practices in Manchester and Wilmslow where I see people face to face for office and walking therapy. At present, because of our current situation, I'm working from my study at home and we can work together online or by telephone.
I think therapy is for people who have the self-awareness to recognise that they need a helping hand and that is something to be applauded. With counselling and psychotherapy positive changes in your relationships, work and life in general can take place, even when those challenges seem overwhelming, distressing and confusing. I regularly work with people with issues around low mood, depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, anger, relationship challenges, childhood issues and generally feeling 'stuck' in life. Get in touch now and take a positive step towards making changes in your life.
It can feel like a huge step when, as a couple, you make the choice to have some therapy sessions. Whatever the cause of your relationship problems the sooner you get help the better the chances of success. If you think that your relationship would benefit from seeing a therapist then make an appointment today. Couples counselling can strengthen your relationship and our goal would be to give you both safety, connection and compassion within your relationship.
Together we will look at what's happening in your relationship, where your shared strengths and weaknesses are, as well as looking at your values around relationships. As a couple you will develop more effective ways of relating with each other so that communication skills and intimacy flourish.
I work with straight and same sex couples using Imago Relationship Therapy developed by Harville Hendrix and Helen La Kelly Hunt. Imago is highly practical and effective method which has helped thousands of couples worldwide establish more connected, passionate and joyful relationships. The focus in Imago is all about your relationship! Hence, safety and connection are priorities. You will learn through the dialogue process how to deepen communication between you. You both get to hear each other. As a result, you can work through challenges and enhance the positives in your relationship.
Disordered eating and issues around food and nutrition advice.
If you are struggling with issues around food and eating why not come and see me. Do you use food to manage your emotions? Are you a diet expert? Do you know what you should do, but feel stuck? I am a licenced practitioner of the Understanding Your Eating Programme (UYE), and I work with a lot of clients with disordered eating so why not get in touch to find out more? I'm also a qualified nutritionist so we can take a look at your nutritional goals and what simple changes you can make in your diet so that you can feel better both mentally and physically.
Statement concerning the coronavirus pandemic
My practice is all online at present due to the challenging times we find ourselves in. I have a lot of experience working online and it's very easy to set up an appointment. The technology works well and it means that you can get your therapy started. I offer a free 30-minute introductory session. This gives you a chance to talk about your difficulties, ask any questions you may have and work out for yourself what you want to do next.
