Namreen | Counsellor

Introduction

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss, or simply feeling stuck. Reaching out for support can be one of the most important steps towards improving your wellbeing, and you don't have to face these challenges alone.

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, I provide a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can talk openly without fear of judgement. My aim is to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, while supporting you to develop healthier coping strategies, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I recognise that every individual is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I tailor each session to your personal needs, drawing on evidence-based therapeutic approaches and working collaboratively to help you achieve the goals that are important to you.

I have experience supporting clients with:

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Depression and low mood
  • Stress and burnout
  • Trauma and recovery
  • Relationship and family issues
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Life transitions and personal growth

Whether you're experiencing a recent crisis or have been living with difficulties for some time, I will work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you.

I offer a free initial consultation, giving us the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and explore how we can work together.

Sessions are available online via Zoom and Microsoft Teams, as well as by telephone or WhatsApp, providing flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

Counselling is available in English, Urdu, and Punjabi, allowing clients to express themselves in the language they feel most comfortable using.

If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be pleased to support you on your journey towards greater emotional wellbeing and a more fulfilling life.

Qualifications and registrations

I hold a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have many years of experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and age groups. My work has strengthened my belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported in a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adults, young people, and older adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, workplace challenges, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, bereavement, and life transitions. I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, tailoring my therapeutic approach to meet each client's individual needs and goals.

My counselling journey began through volunteer roles with Trafford Carers Centre and CDI, where I supported unpaid carers and clients from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Offering counselling in English, Urdu, and Punjabi has enabled many clients to express themselves in the language they feel most comfortable using, helping to build trust and strengthen the therapeutic relationship.

I have also completed specialist training with Childline, providing supervised telephone and online emotional support to children and young people. In addition, I volunteered with Place2Be, delivering counselling within a school setting, which enhanced my understanding of child development, emotional wellbeing, and the importance of early intervention.

I later worked as a Staff Counsellor with Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, supporting NHS staff as well as professionals from a variety of services across Salford City Council. This role gave me valuable experience working with individuals experiencing workplace stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, anxiety, depression, bereavement, and the emotional pressures associated with demanding professional roles.

My experience has also extended internationally through my work as an online counsellor with BetterHelp, where I have supported clients from different countries, cultures, and walks of life. I currently work with HealthHero, providing accessible online counselling and supporting clients with a broad range of emotional and mental health concerns.

In addition, I completed specialist training with Trafford Rape Crisis (now SARA – Sexual Assault and Rape Association) and worked with survivors of sexual violence, further developing my understanding of trauma-informed practice and the importance of providing a safe, sensitive, and empowering therapeutic space.

Whether clients are attending counselling for the first time or returning after previous therapy, I understand that taking the first step can feel daunting. I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for each individual, helping clients feel safe enough to explore difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Across all of my roles, I have supported clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, grief, loss, and significant life changes. My aim is to help clients gain greater self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

I believe that effective counselling is built on trust, respect, empathy, and genuine human connection. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where every client feels listened to, valued, a
