Counselling Sale

There are many reasons people start counselling with me, and you will always be met as the unique person that you are. My gentle, caring, professional approach is built on years of training and experience and involves us working together to help you overcome, resolve, understand, let go, and move forward with lasting change.

Maybe some of the following apply to you, or someone you care about: anxiety, depression, self-harm, or suicidal ideation? Or experiencing difficult emotions and feelings sometimes as a result of trauma and abuse? Or are problems with sexual relationships, sexuality, friendships, or work getting in the way of enjoying life? Maybe you realise that compulsive harmful behaviours or addictions are stripping your life away and of those you love - including alcohol, drugs, sex, pornography, chemsex, gambling? As we work together, you can let go of emotional pain and conflict and start experiencing more joy, freedom, and more of You each day.

You will learn to trust yourself to become your guide and loving support for all of you (body, mind, and spirit) every step of the way with counselling or recovery coaching, where you control the process, tempo, and decisions moving forward. I have affordable day and evening weekday appointments, to help you online (regardless of where you are) or in person (from my private counseling room in south Manchester).

My Core Values:
A foundation for love and compassion - You can be assured of professional and personal values that are founded in compassion, empathy, acceptance, and understanding and will give you a safe space for you to be you, regardless of circumstances, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, and diversity of Gender, Sex, Relationship (GSRD/ LGBTQI+ affirming).

Curious how I got into counselling and coaching?

I know what it is like to be in the depths of depression, self-hatred, and low self-esteem, hating how I used alcohol and other addictions to cover up the fear, shame, anger, and remorse. Yet changing what I did seemed impossible - but with professional help, and through groups like Alcoholics Anonymous, I overcame my pain and trauma, accepted and learned to love myself, and started living a more complete and fulfilling life. I can help you achieve the same.

I provide online and face-to-face appointments and try to be as flexible as possible to find the best time for you, working day and evenings in the week. Appointments are scheduled on a weekly basis, lasting 50-60 minutes.

I offer a free, 15-minute telephone call to introduce ourselves so that you can make an informed decision before boking a paid-for appointment. Please contact me to learn more or to book an appointment.

Specialisations

I help adults for a range of problems, and will be clear from an initial discussion whether I am the right therapist for you. This can include the issues I have mentioned above. I also have specialist expertise in working with problems associated with sexuality, LGBTQI+; addiction; problems with the use of alcohol, drugs, sex/chemsex/pornography/gambling.

Most common issues I support people with:

Compulsive problem use disorders - sometimes labelled as 'addiction' and can include alcohol, drugs (street and prescribed), pornography, sex, gambling, amongst others
Sexuality and sexual identity and expression- note I take a sex-positive position free from moral/religious/cultural constrainsts, but which do not inflict non-consenting harm to others
Anxiety, stress and depression
Existential 'crises'

The way I work is specific to the needs, and desires of the individual, and no two people, nor two appointments will be the same, working with what is presenting itself and changing over time.

Fees

My standard fee is £55 per 50 minute appointment. Concessionary fees are available on a discretionary basis. I offer a no-charge initial 15-minute telephone conversation by way of an inroduction to each other, which I encouarage before you make a firm commitment to booking a paid appointment.
