Counselling Exeter
We turn to talking therapies when the next step is unseen. Has there been a change that you weren’t prepared for, does the world no longer fit with who you thought you were? If so, I would like to help you work out the next step.
Whilst I came to the counselling profession later in life, mental health and wellbeing has always interested me. A close friend of mine had a mental health diagnosis as a teenager, which made me curious about why this happens and what can help.
I find there are more similarities than differences in all of us. I have a particular interest in those with chronic mental health challenges and how an acceptable standard of life can be achieved but I am open to working with whatever you are finding difficult at this time.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on different theories depending on the work we are doing. Whatever you are coming to counselling for, I am looking forward to getting to know you and finding ways to help you.
If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message.

Online therapy
I offer online therapy on Zoom from a confidential setting, and in order to get the most out of our session I ask that you would also be mindful of where you are - somewhere you can feel safe to explore your thoughts.Statement concerning the coronavirus pandemic
Our practice rooms follow up to date government advice, any necessary social distancing and disinfecting reccomendations are followed. I am also aware that some of us are more vulnerable to the negative impacts of the pandemic and would be happy to accomodate your worries as far as is practical.Qualifications and registrations
I have a BA Hons. Degree in Integrative Counselling and I am registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) This means I follow their code of ethics.Registrations
Specialisations
I am reluctant to use the word specialisation but have a lot of experience of working with people weighed down by depression and anxiety.I am interested in how we see ourselves in the world and people with issues of self confidence, social anxiety and low self esteem.
Most common issues I support people with:
Depression - fighting the blues and what is behind it.Anxiety - addressing what the purpose is and how we can stay in control of it.
Self esteem - see me in a better light
Unsustainable coping strategies - bad eating patterns or self medication with alcohol.
Womens issues - menopause and monthly moods.
