Counselling Cheltenham

I am a BACP registered counsellor and therapist and I can offer you a space free of judgement to process and make sense of what is happening in your life.

Sometimes life isn’t working for you in the way that you hoped it would or you’ve experienced a recent life crisis. Sometimes you are able to overcome life’s difficulties by leaning on those around you – family, friends, colleagues. Other times you simply don’t feel able to open up to those closest to you, or these relationships may even be the source of your worries.

In therapy people often find themselves more able to talk freely and to voice things that they are perhaps, unable to with their family and friends, maybe even to say the things that they have never had the opportunity to before.

As an Integrative therapist I have studied a number of approaches to counselling, and I use a blend of these which varies depending on who you are, and what you need. Approaches I work with are a Person Centred Approach, Psychodynamic Theory, Gestalt Theory and Transactional Analysis.

Types of issues

I have experience working with people dealing with a diversity of issues, such as bereavement and loss, a relationship breakdown, a loss of direction, reliving a traumatic event from the past, some may be dissatisfied with their lives and some may just have an overriding sense that all is not OK.

The initial assessment session allows us the opportunity to discuss, in a little more detail, the issues that you would like to look at in your therapy. It gives you the space to ask any questions you have, and to see whether you would feel comfortable working with me.

If you are not sure what you're looking for, we can also start off with an informal chat via the telephone.

About me

I have worked in the charity sector supporting people with dementia and carers of people with a wide range of disabilities or health issues. My working history and understanding of these fields has left me with a passion to support people who may be affected by these issues in particular. However, I welcome anyone who may find themselves experiencing emotional distress.

I am a fully qualified therapist and a registered member of the BACP.
