My name is Vicky, I am a qualified integrative counsellor. I aim to provide you a safe, non-judgemental and empathic space where you can share what you are going through, reflect on any issues you are experiencing and explore your thoughts and feelings.
I have experience helping others while they develop their understanding and discovery of change. Together we can start your journey to find out what makes you unhappy and make the changes you want and need to feel better. Inviting more self-compassion, acceptance and kindness into your life.
Trust and respect
People come to counselling for many reasons and from all walks of life. Taking those first steps to make contact with a counsellor is different for everyone, it can be either difficult or easy. Either way it can lead to the unearthing of your potential, the understanding of your real power and emerging of your purpose and meaning.
My approach is to foster lasting change and growth in a warm and therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect.
Types of issues
I can help you overcome a variety of problems, such as:
- Abuse – sexual, physical, emotional
- Anger management issues
- Anxiety
- Bereavement and loss
- Depression
- Unhappy relationships
- Work stress
- Trauma
Not all problems can have a subject heading, and if life is hard for you but you can’t explain why then we can work that out together.
About me
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked with young people who suffered from attachment disorder after suffering from traumatic childhoods resulting in emotional and antisocial behaviour. Working with these young people spurred me on to a counselling foundation degree course to further my knowledge and ability to use with others.
I am a registered member of the British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for counselling professionals.
