Counselling Worcester

I am currently not taking on any new clients.

Have you found yourself in a time of upset, distress or despair? Would you like to feel heard, understood and accepted?

My name is Helen and I am a fully trained Integrative counsellor. I will listen objectively and sincerely to anything that is concerning you. Empathy and genuineness lie at the heart of my approach.

I have experienced the need for change and adaptation in myself and I don't understimate that this can be a painful process. But I believe that the majority of our feelings are adaptive and have something of value to communicate to us.

A compassionate and non-judgemental and approach

In my role as a counsellor I can offer you:

  • a safe, confidential space
  • a compassionate, non-judgemental and non-directive approach
  • close, empathic listening
  • faith in your potential
  • strong ethical guidelines

We will usually meet once a week and each session will last for 60 minutes. It is up to you what we talk about and how much you want to share. I will listen carefully to what you say, and help you reflect on your thoughts and feelings, without attempting to force a change. Often you may find that change occurs as a natural part of simply acknowledging where you are.

About me

Outside of private practice, I have worked with adolescents for over 15 years, and greatly cherish the challenge, energy and creativity of young people. In addition to counselling, I am a Specialist Mentor for college and university students with mental health needs.

I started my private practice in 2016. I'm a fully trained Integrative counsellor, which means I draw on approaches that are relevant for your issue and character including CBT, Gestalt, EFT and person-centred strategies. I work with brief and long term clients.

I am always keen to learn more about how counselling can work. Previous to counselling, I trained in teaching literature and creative writing, which I have also used therapeutically.

I value working with a wide range of issues and people. Areas of interest to me are:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Attachment issues
  • Compulsive Eating Disorder and other eating disorders
  • Body Image
