Lily | Counsellor

Introduction

My name is Lily, whether you are navigating the suffocating fog of depression, the constant hum of anxiety, or the complex layers of identity and trauma, I am here to hold space for you.

I specialise in Addiction, Self-harm, Panic Attacks, ADHD, Autism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), ensuring that your unique background and lived experiences are respected and understood. From supporting those through the toughest battles with addiction and self-harm to helping you navigate relationship hurdles or phobias, my heart is in helping you find your footing again.

I have spent years on the front lines of mental health. With extensive experience in NHS Recovery Steps and Mental Health Crisis Support teams, I feel your pain and struggles, and I truly care about your recovery.

Regulated & Trusted: I am registered and regulated by recognised professional bodies, such as the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), so you can feel safe knowing you’re in expert hands.

How We Will Work Together

Our journey begins by gently identifying the specific hurdles you are facing. From there, we will create a personalised wellbeing plan, one designed specifically to help you reclaim your life and feel like "you" again. I believe therapy should be more than just talk; it should lead to tangible change. Many of my clients notice a significant lifting of their symptoms within the first four sessions, followed by steady, sustained improvement.

Real Stories of Recovery
With my clients consistently reporting a significant transformation in their mental well-being, here is a reflection from someone I recently supported:

"Lily is such a godsend, she is friendly patient and easy to talk to, she held that well that I was able to discuss issues that I have never dare to speak before, and she helped me overcame social phobia. She also used creative tools to help me process major life traumas, by the end of our session, I felt that I had finally crossed the bridge after 35 years of suffering, and I am now ready for a new happy chapter of my life. I am so grateful of what she has helped me, I feel like a different person now."

Taking the First Step

We know that reaching out is often the hardest part of the journey. To make it a little easier, we invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation. It’s a quiet, no-pressure opportunity to talk, breathe, and see if we are the right fit for your path forward.

"Healing takes immense courage, and you’ve already shown it simply by being here."

Online therapy

  • I provide online and in person counselling sessions via my online counselling room, Google Meet, WhatsApp and Phone call.  You can choose whichever platform that works best for you.

  • A Toolkit Tailored to You

Every person is different, which is why I don’t believe in a "one size fits all" approach. I hold specialist certifications in Rewind Trauma and Phobia Therapy and Grief and Bereavement, and I often integrate creative methods like drawing, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

In our sessions, I draw upon this diverse toolkit to find the specific methods-usually one or two-that will benefit you most in that moment. Whether we are talking through a difficult memory or using creative tools to express what words cannot, my focus is always on what helps you move forward.

Qualifications and registrations

I have always believed that the heart of true healing lies in the therapeutic relationship. Technical skills matter, but they only truly work when you feel heard, safe, and understood.

Eight years ago, inspired by the transformative power of therapy in my own life, I began my career supporting children and students. Today, I work with individuals aged 14 to 75, helping them navigate everything from modern-day burnout to deep-seated struggles with addiction, self-harm, and loss of meaning.

As an LGBTQ+ affirmative and culturally sensitive counsellor, I believe therapy should be as diverse as the people seeking it. I offer a flexible, non-judgmental space where your personal story is honored and your path to healing is prioritised.

A Foundation of Inclusion and Understanding
To better serve my clients, I went on to obtain my Diploma in Professional Therapeutic Counselling and a specialist Diploma in Cultural Competence. These qualifications transformed the way I work; they gave me a profound insight into how our unique cultural, social, and economic backgrounds shape our pain-and our resilience.

Real-World Experience
I believe in meeting people wherever they are, even in their darkest moments. My experience includes:

Addiction Support: Providing Counselling Service within NHS Recovery Steps to support those battling dependency.

Crisis Care: Providing counselling service with a Mental Health Crisis Support Charity, providing a lifeline when it was needed most.

Most common issues I support people with:

  • Depression

Depression isn't just being sad; it’s often a feeling of being "stuck" or "hollow." It’s like living life in grayscale while everyone else is in color. You might find that things you used to love now feel like chores, and even getting out of bed feels like wading through water over a period of time. I will be able to help you finding small ways to turn the lights back on and reconnecting with your spark.

  • Anxiety
Anxiety is like having a smoke detector in your brain that goes off even when there’s no fire. It’s that constant "what if?" voice that keeps your body on high alert, making your heart race or your thoughts spin. It’s exhausting to always be bracing for a hit that hasn't come yet. My aim is to help you learn how to hit the "reset" button on your nervous system so you can feel safe in your own body.

  • Addiction and Self Harm
Most people don’t start an addiction because they want to cause harm; they start because they are in pain and need a way to numb or escape from it. Whether it’s a substance, scrolling, or a habit, it’s a way to "escape" reality for a moment. The problem is that the shield eventually becomes heavier than the pain it was hiding. Our aim is to help you to understand what you’re trying to escape and building a life you don't feel the need to hide from.

  • Life Transitions
Even "good" changes—like a new job, moving, or a breakup—can make you feel like you’ve lost your compass. You’re no longer who you were, but you’re not quite sure who you are yet. It’s that uncomfortable "in-between" space where everything feels uncertain. I can help you to find your footing and deciding who you want to be in this next chapter.

  • Suicidal Ideation
Suicidal thoughts often aren’t about wanting to die as much as they are about wanting the pain to stop. It’s like being in a room filled with smoke; your brain starts looking for any exit just to breathe again. These thoughts are a signal that your "internal battery" is completely depleted and the weight you’re carrying has become too heavy for one person. We work on "widening the room" and finding ways to clear the smoke, one breath at a time, while keeping you safe and supported.
