Tracie | counsellor/supervisor
Introduction
Hello, I’m Tracie.
You might be here because something doesn’t feel right. On the outside, you may look like you’re coping, but inside it feels very different. Perhaps your mind won’t switch off, you’re constantly overthinking, expecting the worst, or feeling on edge without really knowing why. Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background or at times, completely overwhelming.
You may also be carrying the weight of past experiences. Not feeling seen or heard, growing up in environments where your needs weren’t fully met, or learning to put others first can leave lasting impacts. This can show up in your relationships, your confidence, your parenting, or how you cope at work. You might find yourself repeating patterns, feeling stuck, or unsure how to change things.
This is where I can support you.
I am a trauma-informed counsellor, with both continued professional development and lived experience in working with neurodiversity. This means I understand that not everyone experiences the world in the same way, and I adapt my approach to suit you as an individual. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, or pressures at work, I offer a space where you can begin to untangle it all safely.
In our work together, you won’t be judged, rushed, or expected to have the “right” words. I offer a calm, supportive space where you can speak openly and begin to understand yourself on a deeper level. We’ll explore what’s underneath the surface at a pace that feels manageable for you helping you make sense of your feelings, recognise patterns, and develop healthier ways of coping.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our sessions are shaped around you, your needs, your experiences, and what feels most comfortable. My role is to walk alongside you, offering insight, compassion, and gentle challenge when needed, so you can start to feel more in control, more confident, and more like yourself again.
Reaching out can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to managing everything alone. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. It’s a chance for us to connect, for you to ask any questions, and to see if I feel like the right fit for you without any pressure.
You don’t have to keep carrying this on your own. Change is possible, and support is here when you’re ready.
Online therapy
Online Sessions
If you feel more at ease in your own environment, online therapy can offer a supportive and effective way to access counselling. Sessions take place via Whereby platform, allowing you to connect from the comfort and familiarity of your own home.
For many people, being in their own space can make opening up feel less intense. You have your surroundings, your comforts, and the ability to settle yourself in a way that works best for you. This can help you feel more grounded and able to engage in the process.
I want to reassure you that working online does not compromise the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I have extensive experience supporting clients in this way and have seen meaningful, lasting progress through online sessions. The connection we build remains just as important, warm, and effective.
Online therapy also offers flexibility and saves you time there’s no travel, no rushing to appointments, and it can be easier to fit into your day. Whether you’re balancing work, parenting, or other commitments, it allows you to prioritise your wellbeing in a way that feels manageable.
I aim to create the same safe, confidential, and supportive space online as I do in person so wherever you are, you can feel heard, understood, and supported.

Specialisations and Expertises
I work integratively with a focus on trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, and emotional regulation. My approach is grounded in a combination of parts work, person-centred therapy, Gestalt, and compassion-focused practice, which allows us to explore both present difficulties and the deeper patterns that may be contributing to them.
Clients come to me for both short term and long term therapy. Short term work (from around 6 sessions) can be helpful when focusing on a specific issue or area of difficulty, offering a focused space to gain clarity, tools, and insight. I also offer longer term therapy for more complex, layered, or longstanding issues where deeper exploration and ongoing support may be needed.
We would begin by discussing your needs, goals, and what feels financially and emotionally manageable for you. From there, we can agree a pace and structure that feels realistic and supportive.
Throughout our work together, we will regularly review progress to ensure your needs are being met, to reflect on what is changing, and to consider whether we continue in the same direction or shift focus if new priorities emerge. This helps ensure therapy remains responsive, collaborative, and centred around you.
My aim is to offer a safe, steady, and supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore your experiences at your own pace.
Most common issues I support people with:
1. Trauma
I work gently and safely with trauma using a parts-informed approach, which helps us understand and support the different parts of you that may hold distress, protection, or survival strategies. This can include experiences such as childhood abuse, sexual violence, domestic abuse, accidents, or other overwhelming life events. We do not need to retell or relive traumatic experiences in detail in order to heal. Instead, I work in a way that prioritises emotional safety, stabilisation, and resourcing, so that healing can happen without re-traumatisation. I also integrate mindfulness, self-awareness, and self-compassion throughout this process to support regulation and recovery.
2. Anxiety
I can support you in understanding anxiety as something that often has meaning and purpose, rather than something to simply eliminate. Together we explore the internal patterns, thoughts, and “parts” that may be contributing to anxiety, while also working with the nervous system to bring greater calm, safety, and regulation. This can help reduce overwhelm and support a more grounded and compassionate relationship with yourself.
3. Grief and loss
Grief is often not only about bereavement, but also the loss of identity, relationships, safety, roles, or the life we imagined. I work with grief in a way that honours all forms of loss, including complex and unresolved grief. We may explore the emotional, relational, and internal “parts” of grief, while also supporting acceptance, meaning-making, and integration over time. My approach is to hold space for both pain and the possibility of growth alongside it.
4. Self-worth and inner critical voice
I can support you with struggles of low self-worth, shame, or a strong inner critic. Using parts work and compassion-focused approaches, we explore where these internal voices come from and what they are trying to protect. This allows for a more compassionate and less judgemental relationship with yourself to develop over time, helping you move towards greater self-acceptance and confidence.
5. Identity, emotional patterns, and inner conflict (parts work)
Many of us come to therapy feeling stuck in repeated emotional patterns, internal conflict, or disconnection from themselves. I use an integrative approach informed by Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, and person-centred therapy to help bring awareness to different parts of you such as protective parts, anxious parts, or parts that struggle to feel joy or connection. Through increased awareness, mindfulness, and creative exploration, we can begin to bring unconscious processes into awareness, supporting greater clarity, integration, and emotional freedom.
