Lesly | Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Introduction

Hi I’m Lesly. I believe that counselling is one of the best forms of care we can give ourselves and within the right environment it is possible to heal and grow from our experiences.

My practice is rooted in self-awareness and self-care.  I believe in unconditional, non-judgmental acceptance and I walk alongside you with encouragement and support as you work toward your goals, whether that’s breaking habits, embracing change or discovering a renewed version of yourself. .

My services include:

  • Face-to-face and group therapy
  • Trauma-informed training and therapy
  • Wellbeing services, wellness days, and retreats
  • Creative Journaling workshops
  • CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Holistic and Cognitive Behavioural Approaches

I also offer counselling in Spanish, and other languages, to support diverse communities.

With a background in working with minority groups and as an International counsellor, I bring my experience and how to adapt and go into transition as an outsider in whaterve challenges is happening to our life,  I worked in Colombia and Spain, which provided me an experience  with multicultural perspective and approaches into my practice.

What will happen during our first session together?

The first session together (or the first few) is an opportunity for us to get to know each other as it would be with any new relationship and make you feel as comfortable as I can, and we will work together to figure out how to structure the session and subsequent sessions, so that therapy works best for you and your way of working.

Because I am interested and curious to know how things are for you, I will ask you questions but we will go at your pace, and you need only share what you feel comfortable sharing. There is no rush, pressure or judgement. It can take a few sessions (or longer) for you to develop trust in me which is okay, and we can discuss this as we go along.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different in each person’s circumstances. We will discuss your needs at our first meeting. I offer long-term work or brief problem focused therapy (normally 8-12 sessions).

You would not be obliged to come to a certain number of therapy sessions, and you can stop counselling at any time.

Do I have the same appointment each week?

I work from a flexible diary and typically clients book their next session day and time at the end of an appointment.

How should I care for myself before and after counselling?

Counselling can be hard work and stirs up painful emotions. Whilst we are working together, I will give you support, safety and guidance so that you do not feel alone.

It is a good idea to give yourself a little bit of time before and after sessions to prepare and ground yourself. We can talk about different strategies that you may find helpful whilst we are working together.

How do we review if counselling is working for me or not?

We will review therapy regularly as part of our work together and talk about what you are finding helpful and what you might be finding less helpful. This might include reflecting on any specific goals or areas that you want to focus on. I will welcome your feedback on our work together at any point during or after.

The number of sessions varies from person to person because everyone’s situation and goals are unique. We will explore your needs together during our first session and decide what feels most helpful for you.
I offer both long‑term therapy and brief, problem‑focused work. Short‑term therapy typically lasts around 8–12 sessions, but some clients prefer fewer, while others choose to continue for longer as they deepen their self‑understanding.

There is no obligation to commit to a set number of sessions. You are free to continue, pause, or end counselling at any time. My role is to support you at a pace that feels right and respectful of your wellbeing.
