Jason | Integrative Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and Life Coach
Introduction
Integrative Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist & Coach | Nottingham & Derbyshire | Online UK-Wide
I'm Jason, an Integrative Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and Coach with over 22 years of experience in practice. I work with adults who feel emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or shaped by earlier life experiences that continue to affect how they feel about themselves, how they relate to others, and how they move through daily life.
Much of my work centres around anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, emotional regulation, and long-standing patterns rooted in earlier experiences — though I also support people with a broader range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including stress, compulsive habits, poor sleep, confidence issues, and a general sense of feeling lost or disconnected.
What makes my approach different
Many of my clients come to me having already tried traditional talking therapy and feeling that something deeper still needs addressing. My work is integrative — drawing on hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, and structured belief-based approaches — which means we can work both with what is happening in your life right now and with the deeper emotional and subconscious patterns that are driving it.
Sessions are calm, grounded, and collaborative. My style is gentle but precise. Rather than pushing for change, I support a process where understanding and emotional safety create genuine movement — at a pace that feels right for you.
This work is not about "fixing" you. It is about building steadier emotional regulation, greater self-understanding, and a more stable inner foundation — from which real change becomes possible rather than forced.
I commonly support people with:
- Anxiety, panic, and chronic stress
- Trauma and difficult childhood experiences, including abuse and neglect
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Relationship and attachment patterns
- Long-standing belief systems that limit growth
- Compulsive habits and unhelpful behavioural cycles
- Poor sleep
- Feeling disconnected, numb, or overwhelmed
What you can expect from working with me:
- A calm, steady, and professionally structured therapeutic environment
- Clear direction without rigidity
- Emotional depth without overwhelm
- Full respect for your pace and personal boundaries
- A focus on long-term emotional stability rather than quick fixes
I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation by Zoom, telephone, or in person, so you can ask questions and get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit before making any commitment.
If you would like to arrange a free initial consultation (by Zoom, phone, or in person), or simply ask a question, please click the send a message button to get in touch.
Online therapy
I offer online therapy sessions primarily via Zoom, which provides a secure, stable, and straightforward platform for confidential therapeutic work. If you have a preference for an alternative platform and it meets the necessary standards for privacy and confidentiality, I am happy to discuss this.
How online sessions work
Online therapy works in much the same way as in-person sessions. We meet at an agreed time, you join via a private link, and the session takes place in a calm, focused, confidential space. The structure, care, and depth of the work remains the same as face-to-face sessions.
Many clients find that working from their own home helps them settle more easily — which can genuinely support the therapeutic process, particularly when working with anxiety, trauma, or emotionally sensitive material.
What you will need:
- A quiet, private space where you will not be disturbed
- A stable internet connection
- A device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or phone)
- Headphones if you would prefer additional privacy
Why online sessions work well for this kind of therapy
Hypnotherapy and subconscious-based approaches translate well to an online setting because the focus is always on your internal experience rather than physical presence in a room. Clients across the UK access sessions this way regularly, and many find it every bit as effective as meeting in person.
Benefits of online sessions include:
- No travel time or geographical limitations
- Greater flexibility around scheduling
- Access from the comfort and familiarity of your own environment
- Continuity of sessions when travel or mobility is a difficulty
All online sessions are conducted with full attention to confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards.

Specialisations and Expertises
Fields of Specialisation & Expertise
I specialise in working with adults who feel emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or shaped by earlier life experiences that continue to affect their confidence, relationships, and sense of self. My work sits at the intersection of hypnotherapy, integrative psychotherapy, and structured belief-based approaches — which means sessions can address both present-day difficulties and the deeper emotional and subconscious patterns driving them.
Core areas of specialisation include:
- Anxiety, panic, and chronic stress
- Trauma and adverse childhood experiences, including emotional neglect and abuse
- Low self-esteem and deep-rooted confidence difficulties
- Emotional regulation and nervous system patterns
- Relationship and attachment difficulties
- Repeating behavioural and emotional cycles
- Compulsive habits and unhelpful coping patterns
- Parts-based work
- Belief change and identity-level work
- Poor sleep rooted in anxiety or emotional dysregulation
My integrative approach
Rather than following a single fixed method, I draw on a broad range of well-established therapeutic approaches — including hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Lifespan Integration, Core Transformation, the Rewind Technique, NLP, EFT, and others — choosing what fits each person and each piece of work.
This way of working means the approach adapts to you, rather than expecting you to fit a particular model.
What clients can expect:
- A structured but flexible therapeutic approach
- Gentle subconscious work in which you remain fully in control
- Greater emotional understanding and the capacity to regulate your own responses
- A focus on meaningful, lasting change rather than surface-level symptom management
Typical number of sessions
The number of sessions varies depending on the nature of the difficulty and your personal goals.
- Short-term focused work (e.g. specific anxiety, confidence, habits): typically 3–6 sessions
- Deeper therapeutic work (e.g. trauma, long-standing patterns, complex emotional history): typically 8–12 sessions or more
Work is always paced to the individual. Progress is reviewed regularly, and the approach adjusted as things develop. There is no pressure to commit to a set number of sessions upfront — though session packages are available for those who want to take advantage of the discounts these offer.
Most common issues I support people with:
1. Anxiety and Chronic Stress
I work with people who feel constantly on edge, caught in cycles of overthinking, or stuck in a persistent state of tension and alertness. This includes general anxiety, panic symptoms, health anxiety, and long-term stress patterns that affect sleep, confidence, relationships, and daily functioning. The work focuses on understanding what is driving the anxiety beneath the surface — not simply managing how it feels.
2. Trauma and Difficult Childhood Experiences
This includes emotional neglect, abuse, instability in early life, or experiences where safety and emotional support were absent. Many people carry the effects of these experiences into adult life without fully recognising the connection. The work is carefully paced, with a strong focus on helping the nervous system settle, building a genuine sense of emotional safety, and working gently with unresolved emotional patterns at a pace that feels manageable.
3. Low Self-Esteem and Confidence
I support people who struggle with self-worth, persistent self-doubt, or a deep sense of not being good enough. These patterns almost always have roots in earlier experiences and belief systems formed long before adulthood. The work involves understanding how those beliefs developed and building a more grounded, stable sense of self — one that doesn't depend on external validation or how well you're performing.
4. Emotional Regulation Difficulties
This includes feeling overwhelmed or flooded by emotions, shutting down, emotional numbness, or experiencing sudden and disproportionate emotional reactions. The focus is on developing greater emotional stability and confidence in your own capacity to navigate difficult feelings — without being controlled by them.
5. Repeating Relationship and Life Patterns
Many people find themselves repeating the same dynamics in relationships, at work, or in their decision-making — often despite being fully aware of the pattern. We explore the subconscious emotional patterns keeping these cycles in place, supporting greater awareness, genuine choice, and the ability to respond differently.
