Counselling Barrow-in-Furness

The first step is the hardest and the thought of talking is scary, but this is something that takes time to gain confidence in and be comfortable with. I always offer a free initial session for you to start your journey to recovery with no obligation.

I will work with you to slowly explore emotional pain, helping you to express how you feel and find comfort from anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, and intrusive thoughts.

“Richard has always been easy to speak with, kind and compassionate and offered me really helpful and practical strategies” - TH

I believe that you are unique, and everyone needs a different approach to find what they need in therapy. I continue to develop my skills and approaches to help and offer a beneficial experience allowing anyone to grow and develop during and beyond every session, We can always learn from each other, building on our experience to find your nourishment from emotional pain.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you. For the first time I feel I have found myself." – JW

I am a proactive therapist, offering different ways of looking at feelings and situation, this includes challenging you and working with you to develop a deeper understanding of who you are and the boundaries you need and the ones you do not.

"I am enjoying food, have good health and energy, food is not a focus, and I am no longer a slave to the eating disorder I once had, yes had. I feel free of the demons" - CH

I also specialise in working with men to find ways to express how they feel and understand their own emotions.

Thank you for taking the time to read about what I can offer.
