Kate | Psychotherapist, couples therapist, psychosexual therapist and divorce counsellor
Introduction
Allow me to help you get to where you want to be.
Whatever you're struggling with, therapy can be hugely beneficial. Depending on your needs, therapy with me can:
-
help you clarify your thoughts and access your feelings
-
guide you on how to challenge your negative thoughts
-
offer insight into your behavioural patterns and attachment style
- strengthen your ability to cope with what life throws at you
-
give you a space to get things off your chest without being judged
-
build your self-compassion
-
teach you to set and maintain healthy boundaries
-
provide rare validation and acceptance.
My theoretical approach is integrative, which means I draw from different models according to what I think will be most effective for you. I incorporate psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, humanistic, psychosexual and relationship therapy models and the result is rich, insightful therapy.
Having been a therapist for over 15 years, I'm confident and grounded. I've heard a lot and you don't need to worry about shocking me or overwhelming me, nor about me judging you. Whatever you need me to hear, I can hear it and remain calm, grounded and empathic.
I'm certainly not the stereotypical silent, analytical shrink! I'm warm and friendly, and clients often comment on how easy it is to open up to me. I'm also very organised, so you can trust that our sessions will start on time, that you'll get every minute you pay for and that the therapy room will be calm, tidy and private. These things are so important because they allow your therapy sessions to be fully about you, not about practical distractions.
My therapy room in Kings Cross is wonderful. It's a lovely, spacious room just two minutes from the tube and mainline station, but within a discreet, private building set up specifically for psychotherapy.
If you have any questions, I offer a free 20-minute phone call. It's also a great opportunity to get a feel for what I'm like to talk to and whether I'm a good fit for you.or you.
Online therapy
I offer online therapy through Zoom from Tuesday to Friday. When you book an online initial consultation, I'll set up the Zoom session and send you the link, so you just need to click on it to start the session.
Whether you want to have all sesssions online, a mix of in person and online or all in person, I'm happy to work in the best way for you.
