Laurie | Integrative Counsellor
Online Counselling Poole
Hi, I’m Laurie, an integrative counsellor offering online therapy to adults across the UK.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and outwardly “doing fine”, yet carry a persistent sense of self-doubt, anxiety, or not quite belonging. You might feel worn down by constantly questioning yourself, unsure of your needs, or caught in a cycle of trying harder just to feel okay — even when there’s no obvious reason things should feel this difficult.
You may have spent years taking care of others, staying composed, or keeping parts of yourself hidden, and now feel drained, disconnected, or quietly resentful. Perhaps overthinking has become your default, or you’re aware that old patterns keep repeating in relationships, leaving you wondering why it’s so hard to feel settled or secure.
Therapy with me offers a calm, compassionate space to slow things down and begin making sense of what’s been shaping your inner world. Rather than trying to fix or push past what you’re feeling, we work together to understand how your experiences — past and present — have influenced how you relate to yourself and others. This can include exploring patterns like people-pleasing, emotional numbness, or fears of being too much or not enough.
I work relationally and integratively, at a pace that feels manageable, supporting you to rebuild self-trust, ease the constant self-criticism, and reconnect with your own needs. Alongside anxiety, self-doubt and overwhelm, I have a particular interest in grief and loss — including bereavement, family estrangement, and life changes that affect identity or direction.
Clients often share that over time they feel more connected to themselves, clearer about what’s been holding them back, and kinder in how they relate to their inner experience.

Online therapy
All sessions take place online, allowing you to attend therapy from wherever feels most comfortable and private for you. We meet at an agreed weekly or fortnightly time using the secure video platform Zoom, and I’ll send you everything you need to join ahead of your first session.
Online therapy offers flexibility without losing depth. Many clients find that being in their own space helps them feel more at ease and able to speak openly. Sessions are the same length and structure as in-person therapy, and our work together remains relational, thoughtful, and attuned to what you need in the moment.
You don’t need a perfect setup — just a quiet space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. If you’re unsure whether online therapy would suit you, we can talk this through before starting.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, ongoing self-doubt, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm. Many of the people I work with struggle with people-pleasing, boundary difficulties, or perfectionism, and feel worn down by high self-criticism or burnout.
I also work with neurodivergent adults, including those who are late-identified or questioning, as well as individuals navigating grief and loss — such as bereavement, family estrangement, and life changes that affect identity or direction. Relationship difficulties and long-standing relational patterns are also a common focus in my work.
