Jim | Person-Centred Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Introduction
Hello, my name is Jim, and I’m a person-centred therapist offering a mindfulness-based approach to psychotherapy. I believe that every individual has the capacity to grow and heal, and I strive to empower my clients to discover their own innate strengths and resources.
My core training is person-centred therapy, which emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the client’s own inner resources for healing. As a person-centred therapist, my approach to therapy is centred around the belief that each individual has the capacity for self-growth and healing. I also bring a mindfulness-based approach to my work with clients.
My aim is to create a safe and collaborative space for you to bring whatever is troubling you. Through this process of sharing your thoughts and feelings, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, leading to increased self-awareness and personal growth.
I am passionate about the approach that I use, and I love the challenge of my work with clients. I choose to work in a person-centred way because it is a deeply respectful and effective approach to therapy.
To get started, just send me a message through the link on this profile page, and we'll book in a therapy session.
In that first session, we'll meet to discuss what brings you to therapy, address any questions or concerns you might have, and see whether it feels right for us to work together.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Online therapy
Online sessions take place using the telehealth platform Cliniko, which uses end-to-end encryption for all communication. There is no registration or setup required. You will receive an email prior to each session with a unique video link to login.Qualifications and registrations

Clients enter therapy for many different reasons, but these are some of the more common issues I encounter in my practice:Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders involve excessive worry, fear, or panic that interferes with daily life. This includes generalised anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, and phobias, often accompanied by physical symptoms like restlessness, racing heart, or tension.
Depression
Depression is a mood disorder marked by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, low energy, and loss of interest or pleasure in activities. It can also include changes in sleep, appetite, concentration, and self-worth.
Relationship Issues
These involve difficulties in romantic partnerships, family, or social relationships. Common concerns include communication problems, conflict, trust issues, loneliness, break-ups, or repeating unhealthy relational patterns.
Trauma and PTSD
Trauma refers to the emotional and psychological impact of distressing events. It can lead to intrusive memories, avoidance, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Stress, Life Transitions, or Feeling Lost
