Emma | Integrative Therapist

Introduction

  • You’ve tried therapy before and felt unheard, or found that it didn’t quite get to the root of what was going on.
  • You are burnt out, anxious, and overwhelmed with all the plates you are spinning - just trying to get through each day and your ever growing to do list.
  • You’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who you are, even though on the outside you’re still managing day to day.

Maybe you recognise yourself in some of these statements?

Hello, I’m Emma, an Integrative Humanistic Therapist offering a warm, collaborative space where you don’t need to have everything figured out before we begin.

I am a registered member of the NCPS and abide by their ethical code.

Who I work with:

  • People who have had difficult or unhelpful experiences of therapy or mental health services previously and are looking for something different.
  • People who are frequently overwhelmed by their emotions and are looking to develop deeper understanding and abilities to cope.
  • Young adults aged 16–30 who are exploring themes of identity, anxiety, and life transitions.
  • Women navigating motherhood, caregiving, work, or burnout.

My approach is gentle, relational, and at your pace. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, so we can begin to understand the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck.

Over time, therapy may help you:

  • Understand yourself and your patterns more clearly.
  • Feel more grounded and connected to who you are.
  • Build stronger coping skills for difficult emotions.
  • Recognise what matters to you and make choices in line with it.
  • Develop healthier and more fulfilling relationships.

Why me?

Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling cautious because previous support hasn't felt helpful or they've struggled to find a space where they feel genuinely understood.

I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting therapeutic relationship, moving at a pace that feels manageable, and creating a space where all parts of your experience are welcome.

I work in a holistic way, and incorporate creativity, psycho-education, and mindfulness into my work if this is desired.

If you are looking for something truly different, I offer face-to-face counselling from a peaceful yurt in a nature-based setting on Tuesday afternoons. The space provides a calm, grounding environment for reflection and therapeutic work. Within these sessions, we can incorporate nature and mindfulness into the sessions, which can be deeply restorative.

I also offer in-person counselling on Saturday mornings in Canterbury.

I strongly believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling so I tailor sessions to meet the needs of each client.

If any of this resonates with you, I'd encourage you to email or text to ask about availability. I aim to respond within 24 hours.

I use Googlemeet for my online sessions. These are 60 minutes in length.
