Louise | Integrative Counsellor
Counselling Sheffield - Rotherham
Hello, I’m Louise, a qualified and accredited counsellor. I work primarily with children and young people, while also offering therapy to adults. My work is grounded, relational, and trauma‑informed, with particular specialisms in trauma, neurodiversity, and abuse.
I currently work at Freeman’s College (Ruskin Mill Trust), supporting young people with complex needs, including autistic and neurodivergent students. Alongside this, I work therapeutically at SRASAC (Sheffield rape and sexual abuse centre) specialising in sexual abuse, bullying, or relational trauma.
How I work
I offer a calm, compassionate, and non‑judgemental space where you (or your child) can feel safe enough to explore what has happened and how it continues to have an impact. I understand how trauma and neurodivergence can affect emotional regulation, relationships, identity, and the nervous system.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, drawing on:
Person‑Centred Therapy
Psychodynamic Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Rewind Technique (for trauma)
Rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all approach, I tailor therapy to the individual. Together, we work at a pace that feels manageable, helping you understand patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop practical tools that can be used outside the therapy room.
What therapy with me can help with
Anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional regulation
Trauma, including sexual abuse and narcissistic abuse
Neurodiversity and associated challenges
Low self‑esteem, shame, and people‑pleasing
Attachment patterns and relationship difficulties
Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and hyper‑vigilance
Trauma and abuse can leave people feeling unsafe, disconnected, or constantly on alert. Therapy can help you make sense of these responses, reduce their intensity, and begin to relate to yourself and others with more clarity and self‑trust.
Working with children and young people
When working with children and young people, I place strong emphasis on safety, trust, and attunement. I work developmentally and relationally, adapting my approach to suit age, communication style, and neurodivergent needs, while holding the wider context around the young person in mind.
Getting started
You’re welcome to contact me by phone, text, or email, or to book a free 20‑minute consultation to see whether I feel like the right fit for you or your child.
I look forward to hearing from you.
