Hi, thank you for taking the time out to look at my profile. I am an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and also a Registered Mental Health Nurse. I have over 20 years experience of working with people struggling with emotional and psychological problems. I continue to work as a psychotherapist in the NHS. ​​

CBT is a very practical and structured therapy. At the start of each session we set an agenda. We develop a visual diagram to help us understand what unhelpful thoughts and behaviours may be maintaining your problem; this is sometimes called a 'vicious cycle'.

We identify your goals and each session is purposeful helping you work towards them. You will be introduced to specific skills and exercises which facilitate positive changes. At the end of each session we discuss assignments for you to practice in between your sessions. This is a key part of CBT and why it works so well.

I offer face to face therapy from my two counselling rooms, located in Selby, North Yorkshire and Goole, East Yorkshire. I also offer online therapy using Teams / Zoom.

Qualifications and registrations

  • Professional qualifications & formal psychological therapy trainings:
  • Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP)
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC))
  • Diploma in Higher Education in Nursing Studies: Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC registered 2004)
  • BSc Hons Degree in Professional Health studies in Mental Health (2009)
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (2020)

CBT is a short term and time limited therapy. Depending on what you are struggling with will depend on how many treatment sessions required. We review on a regular basis so we can discuss this as we go along.

Depression and low mood
Anxiety disorders including, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) /Panic/Health/Emetaphobia

PTSD
Low Self Esteem

Fees

I offer a complimentary initial 20 min consultation, when we can discuss your problem and also whether or not we feel that I am the right therapist for you.

If we agree to go ahead therapy sessions:

My fees are £60 per face-to-face session and £55 per per online session.
The sessions usually last between 50 - 55 Mins.
