Shanna | Counsellor

Counselling Bury

Hello and welcome, My name is Shanna, I’m a qualified integrative counsellor with over 9 years experience and 17 years working in the mental health field. My approach is rooted in person-centred values, offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I have supported clients through a wide range of challenges including anxiety, emotional overwhelm, identity struggles, burnout, and patterns shaped by past trauma.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support each person in a way that feels personal and relevant. While my foundation is rooted in person-centred therapy, offering empathy, authenticity, and non-judgement, I also incorporate elements from cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic models. This blend allows us to explore both past and present experiences while developing practical tools to support meaningful change.

I offer a warm, confidential space where you can talk freely and be met with genuine understanding. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating life transitions, struggling with anxiety or low self-esteem, or trying to make sense of past experiences, I work alongside you to build awareness, resilience, and self-trust.

I also have experience supporting individuals with ADHD, including those recently diagnosed or exploring how it impacts their emotional wellbeing and daily life. This is just one aspect of my broader work, and I always tailor sessions to your unique story, whether or not a diagnosis is part of that. Over the past 17 years, I’ve worked across a range of mental health settings, including substance misuse services, charities, University and healthcare organisations, supporting both adults and young people.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and always led by what feels most helpful for you. Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. You don’t need to have all the answers, just the willingness to begin.

If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please send me a message via the send a message - button.

Online therapy

I offer online therapy sessions through secure video platforms including Google Meet, Zoom, or WhatsApp - whichever feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Sessions are held in a quiet, confidential space, allowing you to speak openly from the comfort of your own home.

Before we begin, I’ll send over a link or details for your chosen platform, and we’ll take a few minutes at the start of our first session to make sure everything feels settled and safe. Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person support, offering flexibility while still providing a consistent, grounded therapeutic space.
