Simon | Clay Field Therapist & Counsellor
Introduction
Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally stuck, or exhausted from trying to think your way through your difficulties?
Clay Field Therapy® offers a different way of working—using touch, movement and sensory experience to support emotional regulation and reconnect you with a sense of safety.
I was drawn to Clay Field Therapy® because I have seen how many people understand their story intellectually, yet still carry its effects in their body. This approach creates the conditions for new experiences of safety, regulation, and connection when words alone have reached their limit.
Many people come to therapy knowing something does not feel right, but struggle to explain it fully through talking alone. Clay Field Therapy® offers a different way of working—one that works through touch, movement, sensation, and a safe therapeutic relationship.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and insightful. They often understand why they feel the way they do. Yet understanding alone hasn't brought the change they were hoping for. Clay Field Therapy® offers an experience that helps bridge the gap between insight and lasting change.
Sessions take place using a clay field: a wooden box filled with clay, water, and space. Through gentle hands-on engagement with the clay, many people begin to feel calmer, more grounded, and more connected with themselves.
No artistic skill or experience is needed.
There is no right or wrong way to work with the clay.
This work can be especially helpful for people who:
• overwhelmed
• anxiety
• struggle to find words
• disconnected
• grief
• experiential
• have found that talking therapy alone hasn't been enough.
My role is not to interpret your experience or tell you what you should feel. Instead, I offer a safe, attuned space where your own nervous system can begin to discover new experiences of regulation, safety, and connection.
I am a qualified and experienced therapist with specialist training in Clay Field Therapy®, person-centred counselling, play therapy, and sensorimotor approaches. Alongside private practice, Alongside private practice, I have many years' experience supporting children, young people, adults, and families within specialist NHS bereavement and therapeutic services.
Sessions are available in Liverpool for adults, children, and young people. If you're wondering whether this approach might be right for you or your child, you're welcome to get in touch for an informal conversation before deciding whether to book.
Online therapy
While Clay Field Therapy® itself is an in-person approach, I also offer online counselling for adults seeking support with anxiety, stress, grief, trauma and emotional wellbeing. Together we decide whether online work, face-to-face counselling or Clay Field Therapy® is the most appropriate approach.
