Simon | Clay Field Therapist & Counsellor
Introduction
I offer Clay Field Therapy® for adults, children, and young people experiencing anxiety, stress, overwhelm, trauma, grief, emotional disconnection, or difficulties that can feel hard to put into words.
This therapy may suit people who feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, disconnected, highly anxious, or tired of trying to think their way through difficulties.
Many people come to therapy knowing something does not feel right, but struggle to explain it fully through talking alone. Clay Field Therapy offers a different approach — one that works through touch, movement, sensation, and therapeutic presence.
Sessions take place using a clay field: a wooden box filled with clay, water, and space. Through gentle hands-on engagement with the clay, the nervous system can begin to slow down, regulate, and reconnect with a deeper sense of safety and self-awareness.
No artistic skill or experience is needed.
This work can be especially helpful for people who:
• feel emotionally overwhelmed or shut down
• experience anxiety, stress, burnout, or trauma responses
• struggle to find words for their feelings
• feel disconnected from themselves or others
• have experienced grief, loss, or significant life changes
• are looking for a more embodied and experiential form of therapy
My approach is grounded in therapeutic presence, attunement, and the understanding that healing is not always achieved through words alone. Clay Field Therapy can support emotional regulation, self-awareness, resilience, and deeper connection with oneself.
I am a qualified and experienced therapist with specialist training in Clay Field Therapy®, person-centred counselling, play therapy, and sensorimotor approaches. Alongside private practice, I have extensive experience supporting children, young people, adults, and families within specialist bereavement and therapeutic services.
Sessions are available in Liverpool for adults, children, and young people. Workshops, professional supervision, and introductory experiential sessions are also available.
Online therapy
Online sessions are available for adults across the UK who are looking for therapeutic support around anxiety, stress, overwhelm, trauma, grief, emotional regulation, or life difficulties.
My online work is informed by Clay Field Therapy®, person-centred counselling, and sensorimotor approaches. While full Clay Field Therapy is primarily an in-person experience, online sessions can still offer a grounded and supportive therapeutic space focused on regulation, emotional processing, reflection, and embodied awareness.
Sessions take place via secure video call and are adapted to your individual needs. Some clients use online therapy as ongoing support, while others combine online sessions with in-person Clay Field Therapy workshops or face-to-face sessions in Liverpool.
Online therapy may be particularly helpful if you:
• prefer to work from home
• live outside Liverpool
• struggle to access local specialist support
• want a gentler starting point before in-person work
• are looking for reflective, emotionally attuned therapeutic support
An initial assessment session helps us explore what support may be most appropriate for you and whether online work is the right fit.
