Welcome.
Taking the first steps towards seeking counselling can be daunting but also life changing. It's important to find someone who is the right fit for you as I believe that the relationship you and your therapist build is one of the most important aspects of the therapy.
You may be experiencing emotional difficulties, relationship problems, anxiety or overwhelm due to life's challenges or issues from your past.
We are all unique and have very different needs and problems. I am an integrative therapist using a variety of different theoretical approaches and practices to tailor our work to you individually.
Together we will explore your experiences and gain insight into your responses to enable you to understand yourself more fully. We will work together on navigating anything you are struggling with.
I will offer you my full attention, support and compassion in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

Online therapy
If you prefer online therapy sessions or are unable to access face to face sessions, I use the Teams online platform. I will send you a Teams link in advance in an email and you can just click on the link even if you don't have Teams yourself.Sessions online last up to one hour - just as face to face ones do.
Qualifications and registrations
- I hold Level 5 diplomas in Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy.
- I am Advanced Drawing and Talking Practitioner which includes Sand Tray therapy
- I am DBS checked
- I'm an accredited member of the NCIP and hold full indemnity insurance.
- I've been in private practice for over 8 years now.
- I've had/have a variety of volunteer roles including working as a counsellor in a primary school with Place2Be and facilitating a peer support group at Project 6 in Keighley for those whose loved ones have difficulties with alcohol or drug use.

Specialisations
Although not a specialist in Trauma therapy, I offer a trauma informed approach and use CPD to ensure that I am up to date with current thinking and therapeutic approaches including Somatic work, Polyvagal theory and Attachment theory.The work I do with clients will often pull in helpful aspects of these theories but also CBT, Transactional Analysis, hypnotherapy and creative approaches.
Hypnotherapy can be a very effective way to treat a great number of issues including phobias and anxieties. I am also trained in The Rewind Therapy which is a hypnotherapeutic technique which can enable the brain to process traumatic memory and ease the symptoms of PTSD.
Working with children I offer a 12 half hour session intervention called Drawing and Talking or Sand Tray therapy. This is a gentle and non intrusive indirect intervention for children who are experiencing emotional difficulties or have suffered any kind of trauma. It works in a similar way to play therapy.
