Individual and Couples Counselling Stockton-on-tees
Hi, I’m Wendy, and I’m really glad you’re here. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I want to start by acknowledging how strong that makes you. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply need someone to talk to, I’m here to support you.
Individual counselling services are designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. I can provide a supportive and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies for positive change.
I’m a qualified counsellor with 5+ years of experience helping adults and couples navigate life’s ups and downs. I work with people facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, stress, and big life transitions. Whether you're working through personal struggles or wanting to strengthen your relationship, you don’t have to do it alone.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative, therapy with me is a safe, non-judgemental space where your voice matters and you are heard.
I currently have availability and would be happy to walk with you on your counselling journey. I feel I specialise in helping people move forward, set goals, challenge themselves and become more self-aware of who they are. We'll go at your pace and focus on what feels most meaningful for your goals and growth.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, which means I draw from several evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, and solution-focused strategies — always tailoring my approach to fit you.
*The areas I work with are listed in my file.

Specialisations and Expertises
The number of sessions would depend on the problem, no pressure from me to say more or less it is what you need that we go with.Areas I can help with include:
Feeling lost can be caused by several factors, such as a lack of purpose, fulfilment, or direction. Right now, it may seem like life has no meaning. The important thing to tell yourself is that you need to go easy on yourself instead of blaming yourself for feeling lost.
Feeling lost - like life has no purpose or meaning This could be due to:
- parenting a special needs child or child with complex mental health needs
- illness or the menopause
- handling difficult situations such as a job or relationship loss
- Loss (death or loss of loved one from breakup or job)
- Emotional factors like anxiety, depression
Anxiety: My clients often have anxiety as the core issue and are struggling to manage or cope with this on their own. This includes social anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder. Some clients have anxiety from using dating apps, starting fresh with someone new or ending something (e.g. relationship, job, moving etc..) and the anxiety that comes with it.
Depression: We all have times when our mood is low, and we're feeling sad or miserable about life. Usually these feelings pass in due course. But if the feelings are interfering with your life and don't go away after a couple of weeks, or if they come back over and over again for a few days at a time, it could be a sign that you're experiencing depression.
Work related stress: My clients are going through a career change, do not like their jobs anymore or have started in a new job role and find it overwhelming or stressful. It's helpful to learn how to manage stress caused by work. If you often experience feelings of stress, you might be at risk of developing a mental health problem like depression or anxiety.
Relationship Counselling for individuals:
My clients have said it feel's like when a relationship ended for them it was ‘their fault ‘or ‘they were too much.’
It is hard trying to get over a breakup or to start a new relationship, whether it is commitment issues, previous unpleasant experience or trauma or never been in a relationship.
Some clients have anxiety from using dating apps, starting fresh with someone new or ending something (e.g. relationship, job, moving etc..) and the anxiety that comes with it
Most common issues I support people with:
- feeling lost, 'not sure who you are anymore'
- anxiety and depression
- life transitions and big decisions
- bereavement
- stress
