Sharon | Psychotherapist / Counsellor

Introduction

Are you dealing with depression, anxiety, or wanting non-judgemental support? Are you being bullied at work or school? Have you or a loved one been through a life changing medical trauma?

Hi, my name is Sharon and I’m a Psychotherapist. I work with adults who are going through difficult times in their life and are ready to make sense of what they’re feeling 💛

You might be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, or feelings of overwhelm that are making everyday life feel heavy. Perhaps you’re navigating grief, a relationship breakdown, a major life change, or simply a sense that something isn’t quite right but you can’t put your finger on what. You may have spent a long time putting everyone else first and you’re finally ready to make some space for yourself.

I work with individuals only, offering both face to face sessions in Southend-on-Sea and online sessions for those who prefer the comfort and convenience of working from home.

You don’t need to be in crisis to come to counselling. Many of my clients simply want a safe, confidential space where they can talk honestly, without judgement, and begin to understand themselves a little better.

As an accredited BACP Person-Centred counsellor with additional training in Transactional Analysis, I bring warmth, genuine care, and a deep respect for your own unique experience. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and my role is to walk alongside you, not to tell you what to do or how to feel.

If any of this feels familiar, I’d love to hear from you 💛

Specialisations and Expertises

Any life transition is my speciality. Helping you to accept the change in your life.

I've worked with people who have been diagnosed with life altering illnesses, others that have been bereaved. Some people have changed job, moved town, split with a partner. Sometimes we need help processing the change, so that we can accept it. Only then can we carve out a different life.

Most common issues I support people with:

Life changing medical trauma doesn’t just affect the person at the centre of it. It ripples outward, touching everyone around them 💛 I know this because I have lived it. I have felt the impact on my marriage, watched my husband navigate something he never had words for, and seen the silent stories my children told themselves in the midst of it all.

I have felt it in my professional relationships too, in the spaces where I had to keep going even when everything felt uncertain. If you are a survivor, or someone who loves one, you will know that the aftermath is complex, quiet, and often invisible to the outside world. You don’t have to make sense of it alone. That is exactly what I am here for 💛

Anxiety is one of the most human experiences there is 💛 It’s your mind and body doing exactly what they were designed to do, trying to keep you safe. Every single one of us feels it at some point, whether it shows up as a racing heart before a big moment, a restless night spent overthinking, or that low hum of worry that’s hard to shake. Sometimes though, our minds and bodies don’t realise that we’re actually okay, that the danger they’re preparing us for simply isn’t there.

Feeling anxious doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. It means you’re human, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. 🌿 Sometimes all you need is to talk it through with someone, and I’m here for exactly that. If anxiety has been weighing on you, reach out today.

Burnout is becoming more and more common, and honestly, is it any wonder? 💛 So many of us are carrying the weight of trying to be the perfect parent, the perfect partner, the perfect child, the perfect colleague, the perfect employee, the perfect business owner… and we tell ourselves we have to be all of those things, all of the time, without dropping a single one. That is an enormous amount of pressure to place on one person. On yourself.

If you are feeling exhausted, emotionally flat, or like you are running on empty no matter how much rest you get, you are not failing. You are overwhelmed, and that is completely understandable. You deserve support, not more pressure. 💛

Anger is rarely just anger 💛 Beneath the surface, it is often masking a whole range of emotions that we haven’t yet had the space or the safety to explore. Fear, shame, grief, hurt, feeling unheard or unseen. Sometimes we don’t even realise that what we’re feeling goes that deep, and we can’t always explain why certain things trigger us the way they do. That confusion is more common than you think, and it is nothing to be ashamed of.

In our work together, we gently unpick what is really going on beneath the surface, helping you to understand yourself in a way you perhaps never have before. Because when you understand your anger, it loses its grip on you. You stop being controlled by it, and you start being in control of it. That shift is possible. And it can start with one conversation 💛

Low self esteem has a way of quietly taking hold 💛 Somewhere along the way, messages crept in. Maybe from childhood, maybe from a relationship, maybe from school or work and over time those messages became the voice in your head telling you that you are not enough. Not worthy enough. Not loveable enough. Not capable enough. The thing is, those messages were never the truth. They were just repeated often enough that they started to feel like it.

In our work together, we gently explore where those beliefs came from and begin to loosen their grip, replacing them with something far kinder and far more honest. You deserve to feel good about who you are. You deserve self belief. You deserve self love. And with the right support, that is absolutely something you can find your way back to 💛
