Bola | Psychotherapist

Introduction

Bola founded a mental health practice, which provides in depth, confidential, and clinically grounded psychotherapy for adults and couples seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the emotional difficulties that may be affecting their lives.

Many of the people who come to the practice are functioning well on the surface. They may be successful in their careers, manage significant responsibilities, and appear capable to those around them. Yet internally they may be struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, or a persistent sense that life feels harder than it should.

At our practice, we understand that symptoms often have meaning. Rather than focusing solely on managing difficulties in the present, psychotherapy offers an opportunity to explore the deeper emotional experiences, unconscious patterns, and relational dynamics that may contribute to distress. Through this process, individuals can develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a stronger capacity for change.

We work with a wide range of presenting difficulties, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma (C-PTSD), bereavement, work-related stress, emotional dysregulation, relationship challenges, attachment difficulties, and the long-term impact of childhood neglect, abuse, or adverse experiences. We also support individuals who feel stuck in repetitive patterns, struggle with perfectionism or self-criticism, or find themselves repeatedly encountering similar difficulties in their personal or professional lives.

Our clinical approach is primarily psychodynamic, drawing upon contemporary psychoanalytic thinking and an understanding of how early experiences can continue to influence present-day relationships, emotions, and ways of coping. Therapy provides a reflective space where thoughts, feelings, and experiences can be explored safely and without judgement.

The practice has particular experience working with professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, creatives, and individuals who operate in demanding environments. Many clients seek therapy not because they are unable to function, but because they wish to understand themselves more fully, improve their relationships, and live with greater emotional freedom and authenticity.

The practice is committed to providing therapy that is both compassionate and clinically rigorous. We recognise that beginning therapy can feel daunting, and we strive to create a therapeutic environment that is welcoming, respectful, and containing. Every individual is approached as unique, and therapy is tailored to their specific circumstances, needs, and goals.

Sessions are available in person from our consulting rooms in Buckhurst Hill, on the London–Essex border, and online for clients across the UK and internationally. Whether you are seeking support for a specific difficulty or looking to understand yourself at a deeper level, psychotherapy can offer a valuable opportunity for reflection, growth, and lasting psychological change.

Our practice offers a confidential space in which meaningful therapeutic work can take place, helping individuals develop greater insight, emotional wellbeing, and a more fulfilling relationship with themselves and others.

Online therapy

Our practice offers secure online therapy sessions via Google Meet and WhatsApp for clients across the UK and internationally. Online therapy provides the same confidential, thoughtful, and clinically grounded support as in-person sessions, whilst offering greater flexibility and convenience.

Prior to your appointment, you will receive a private Google Meet link by email. Sessions take place at your regular scheduled time and can be accessed from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly.

Many clients find that online therapy allows them to engage in meaningful therapeutic work whilst balancing professional, family, or travel commitments. Whether you are based elsewhere in the UK or living abroad, online therapy enables you to access specialist psychodynamic psychotherapy from wherever you are in the world.
